I haven't heard much from our district. How's the teams looking? BH opens up tonight with LaPorte, hopefully the rain will stay away.

Anderson shoe & saddle repair in Baytown, does an excellent job. Once relaced they will recondition the leather like they do their saddles. 281-422-8385

BH JV went undefeated on their way to win the Santa Fe tournament this weekend. Very strong showing throughout the whole tournament. Great job to all the players.

I sat on Ozen's and Dayton's side yesterday cheering for their teams. Both games were fun games to watch especially the Ozen game. What happened Brenham Fan, the Cubs look like s*@t to be 11-0. All this haten on BH makes it hard to cheer for your teams. This next round will be some great games to watch, good luck to Dayton and ok 20-4A!!!!!!

I was able to watch this game and it was a great game to see. Ozen did everything they needed to. Congrats on the win and good luck next week!!!

The cream always rises to the top in 19-4a again and again. Go Broncos

The lone supporter of 19-4A, good luck Broncos.

I will go on record and say that he will not win a playoff game at BH. His best class just finished their senior football season and I dont see him hanging around for much longer, maybe 2 or 3 years. Just my opinion.
I think he leaves this year. Nearly our entire defense graduates, and a bunch of our offense. If he couldn't do great things with this team...the next few years aren't going to be as good. IMHO.
I don't know when our first playoff win will be, but I do know that next years team will do their best to make it happen. We had our chances on Friday but Ozen played great and made the plays when needed. We all talked smack leading up to the game and we didn't back it up, so now we have to listen to everyone but that's the fun of this site, good or bad. We lose a lot of players this year but we do have our QB for two more years and some very good Juniors coming back. Our JV was very good this year and we will need everyone to step up to the challenge. The thing a do not like or understand is BH people getting on here and making comments about not being good for the next few years. SUPPORT THE KIDS AND THE PROGRAM, GOOD OR BAD!!! -

bhfan, 10 and 15 are definitely worried about the wrong thing.....and if the Panther fans decide to eat burger king or something of that nature, we are inclined to wait til we get to Winnie. Ticket sales is the only advantage you have and that's because it's at your stadium.
Yeah, I heard the Crow was better in Winnie anyways.

You know the food just like everything else is better at BH, besides if you wait till after the game you will be to sick from the loss to eat!!!! -
Everybody talking about what happened in the past is fine but it doesn't matter and the lost to Crosby last week doesn't matter, they beat us. We are the District Champs and Ozen is a 4 seed and that doesn't matter. We both enter the playoffs and it will be decided on Friday. So enjoy your 45 minute drive over, spend some money at a local restaurant and enjoy the game because that 45 minute drive back is going to seem like 3 hrs.

Ozen - 14

BH 6
Crosby 4
BH clinches the JV district title tonight, with only 3 losses on the year BH has a great future for their program. Congrats to all the kids. -
BH won 6-2, we have one loss in district and the last game is against Crosby. It should be a good one and it's nice to see a district race come down to the last game in JV baseball. GO EAGLES...
-
BH JV playing strong all year. Only 3 losses on the season with one of those in district against GP. We look forward to the rematch. Just beat Dayton for the second time, it was a good game BH came from behind to win it in the last inning. Great future for BH Baseball.

Doesnt matter who they decide on. As soon as he doesnt win state he will be persecuted.
I wouldn't say that. Stalbaum made it 23 years and left on his own terms without winning state and he wasn't persecuted.

Kinda shoots holes in that statement doesn't it. How do so many "outsiders" know so much more about BH athletics, baseball in particular, than the folks associated with BH ???
So true, thanks for the post! -
Where will the games be played?

Am I correct that it takes only 1 vote to be named honorable mention? He (the prom kid's replacement) at least had the vote of one coach, probably his own, but still, he probably felt the kid was worthy!
I see 2 kids from BH that made honorable mention, Santana & Thompson. Thompson was the starting catcher and Santana started everytime Leggett pitched. When a kid was lost due to issues at the prom Santana started every game. The prom replacement Matt King was pulled up from JV and did a great job. Know the facts before you make comments. -

The post was not to question the kids work ethic only to state the obvious. No coach in his right mind can justify a Defensive MVP first baseman out of the the 150 plus participants in 19-4a. How the heck does anybody think the ball arrived in his mitt? Call it what it is all these awards are soley based on offensive production as one coach explained to me and offensive only. Defense has no place in the minds of our coaches and fans. As speckledtackle indicated the honorable mentioned candidate owes the prom kid a special thanks for being able to garner enough PT to recive his trophy.
It's a shame when awards are posted after every season, someone has to always act like an a@#hole. You quote Coach Byrd's "Wow" saying like you know him well. Coach Byrd has helped coach (as you call) the Defensive MVP first baseman for 4 years. I do know Coach Byrd and I believe his comment would be WOW its about time this kid gets recognized. I guest all the scoops, diving catches and throw outs he had this year had nothing to do with him receiving the award. If the award was given out based off offensive production as you state, do your homework he has the stats to back it up. Congrats to all the players. -
Congrats to the Eagles for a quality showing in the tournament. They won 7-2 against needville last night. Pitching look great with Long going for 5 innings giving up 3 hits and had 5 K's. Asbury started the 6th and finished the game giving up no hits and had 2 K's.
Congrats to following:
Daniel Mitchell, Kody Thompson, Blake Bonnin - All Tournament
Tyler Newcomb - MVP -
BH won the 2nd game 12-2 against Wimberly. Leggett went 5 innings and Thompson pitched the 6th. Pitching and hitting were good all day to go along with a much improved solid defensive showing. It was nice getting Mitchell and Asbury from basketball. Mitchell was lead off yesterday and had a great day at the plate. Lyday had another solid performance at the plate to go along with McDonald, Newcomb (HR) and Thompson (HR). Todays game is at 6:00 against Needville.
-
Congrats from BH, Angelina is getting a fine pitcher and great kid. I know his parents are very proud.
-
A few Kids to be considered:
P - Smesny (Dayton), Burditt (BH)
LF - Henscey (BH)
CF - Padgett (BH), Crapo (Dayton)
1st - Lyday (BH)
SS - Carmono (BH), Crosby SS
Comment about best 1st baseball - Kid from BH Tyler Lyday (Junior) - From what I have seen this kid has hit the ball all year and has been a wall on defense. I don't know all the stats, but I heard he's batting around .375 with an OBP over .500, not bad considering this is the best competition I've seen in our District.
