I have to go with the BUCS.

If Anahuac can control the Def line, they will stop Buna's Ace running back. Anahuac's speed will control the outside. I have to go with Anahauc on this one.

If you think Newton is no good you need to put down the pipe and watch. Newton has 6 or 7 kids (#2,4,7,11,15,22,25) that could play on any 3A team no problem. They have a ton of talent and just because they lost to EC does not mean they are not good. Keep you heads up Newton and use that talent where it is needed. Dang this is a tough district.

When my friend passed away suddenly last year I was in shock, a sense of loss, to many emotions to put in any post and I am 64 years young. The kids lost their head coach ,probably most of the kids lost a father figure and I a sure they wanted to win for their coach and loved one. however,they had no leader, only practiced one time that week with there mind on everything . I will put it this way and make it easy for a simple minded human. How long did it take the Winnie people to get over Hurricane Ike and could you really expect the kids to concentrate on football as in a normal year. You won last year and I don't want sympathy ,just some understanding because we lost a great friend,leader, coach and so much more for different people. [/quote] Curtis Barbay was a great coach and I have no doubt that it has an impact on everyone at Newton  last year. All the talk on here is just that, no disrespect from EC. You talk about how your going to beat EC and we reply how we are going to beat Newton. Just talk, no disrespect. Curtis Barbay was great and Newton has a great team. That #25 Brandon Johnson Soph. was one heck of a RB and will be hard to deal with in years to come. Good luck to Newton, and GOD help You through the loss of a great coach.

High Island scrimmage cancelled. EC now has scrimmage at HF on Friday at 5:30 PM.
