1. It appears that the rain for today is ending so I bet we can play tonight.  They have all day to prepare the field for tonight. It would be interesting if we play two games tonight and the teams split.  That would mean that a 3rd game would have to be played.  Where as if only one game was played tonight and no games could be played tomorrow then we would have a winner.  In words, once the 2nd game is played that game's results cannot be disregarded to use only the 1st game's results.  I guess we will just have to win both games tonight to eliminate any problems with playing on Saturday.
2. Livingston is 5-3 not 6-2.  They lost to PNG twice and Nederland once.
3. I know this post isn't about baseball but I wanted to put it where the administrators would see it.  Isn't it time to change the time of this site to daylight saving time?
4. Don't know if this is the best place to post this but shouldn't this site's time be changed to Daylight Saving Time?
5. The Header labeled Friday April 5, 2012 should be Thursday April 5, 2012.
6. Actually the 2011 PNG team started the season on fire.  For whatever reason they sumped at the first of district and then had to figure it out to get a playoff spot.
7.
The whole stadium holds 10,600 with both sides about equal.  How could 8,000 be on one side?
Provost Umphrey seats 16000.. you might be thinking of the butch Edit: 15,300 according to texasbob.com
You are right.  I was thinking about the Butch.  My apology AAW.  I should have known you wouldn't have made a mistake.

9.
The 77-78 team went 8-2 and made the playoffs.  Back then only the top team from district went.  Got blown out in the Dome in the first round of the playoffs, as I recall.
I was at that game.  If I remember right Vidor played Aldine.  I think that as Aldine was about to score one time that they fumbled and a Vidor man caught the ball in the air and started running.  I thought you better score because I don't believe your offense could finished the job but I believe he scored for Vidor only score.
10.
Kinda interesting to read thru this thread now that the regular season is coming to a close
"Sharp" comment, Razor.  Looks as though most people had Central in the top 4.  Also most had Livingston in the top 4 but they also may not make it.
11. Usually a team tries to score points plus keep the other team from scoring.  So what is the difference between scoring a lot of points (some say Running Up The Score) or not allowing the other team to score?  Why is one consider wrong by some people but not allowing the other team to score OK?  If not scoring points against a team makes the losing team feel better why not let them score so they can feel better?  Is a shutout wrong?
12. PNG Purple Freshman beat LCM 22-16.  Good game by both teams.
13. You know there may be two thoughts to why a school schedules another school for their homecoming.  One is because they feel they can beat that team and thus have a better homecoming.  The other is that they feel the homecoming gives their team more incentive to beat a team that they might not be able to on a "regular" game night.  Of course it may only be because homecoming has to be a home game (by definition) and your team plays them at the time on the schedule when they wanted a homecoming.
14. Sounds as though you are already saying "Wait till next year!"  You do know Vidor is still alive this year, don't you?
15. Subs score.  Arvie in for TD.  Now 57-10.  Little over a minute left.
16. Bertrand scored on long run (65 yds) on 4th down.  PNG 43-10
