Absolutely!!! Deep East Texas chapter is well organized & has the "pick of the litter" for the area's best referees.
 2.
What were you wanting to discuss Poker Star?? There have been several discussions on this board and they have not been deleted.  When the conversations stray way off the topic or become personal, the moderator steps in.  I did however hear there was a topic re: sports officiating posted a little while back but it did not stay on here very long.  I believe it was a topic re: the two chapters operating in the area which is a very sensitive subject for some. Now, I believe the person who saw the topic on here but not sure why it is no longer on here unless it was totally inappropriate.  If you are thinking of coming back to officiating, this site should not be your deciding factor.  Come back because you enjoy the sport...not by what others say on this board.  :)  We could use more officials!
Not only does he or she have to decide if they are returning to officiating but also WHICH chapter to return to. The landscape may have changed since their departure.
 3. [Hidden Content] The rules have definitely changed the game.

The type of colleges after her will determine her true ranking.
Ciara should have signed something by now? Has she?
To be fair & not mean-spirited, I see a lot of the women's NCAA games from JuCo, NAIA to D-1. I think she might sign up in the Region 14 South JuCo league, maybe.

JMO
The "Drum?"  Man, I just found out this year it's not a Gregory Gym anymore. Now those are the memories  ;D
Can't believe you thought the state tourney was still held at Gregory. It's been at the Drum since 1978!!!35 years!!! You are completely out of touch, you should be banned from any basketball talk. Your credibility is totally shot!!! Your future posts will be subject to immediate deletion.
Busted!  LOL!
Dove, they took the peach baskets down @ Gregory 20 years ago !!
 7.
Steve I would love to take your $$$ but I would never bet against a KID getting help to go to school... Like I said I wish him alll the luck in the world, But I have seen him play, and I saw DC, and some of the other kids that were as good last yr, And none of them are playing D1 now. But there is nothing wrong with going the Jr Co route
The phrase " JuCo route " is a bit misleading. IMO - it leads one to believe that it is a stop along the way to a D-1 career when (and I would gladly entertain 3-1 odds on this) in fact maybe 1 out of 100 (1%)of the kids who do play JuCo never get a shot @ moving up to a D-1 scholarship.
BigDaddy I have a few questions and am interested to hear your response: 1.  If English set it up, then why did he not attend? 2.  Why was there 7 UIL Represented schools (2 coaches from Central, 2 from Ozen, 1 from Kountze, 1 from PAM and one from Anahuac) and only 2 TASO Represented Schools in attendance at meeting?  3.  Why did the UIL Chapter settle out of court and pay the $4500?   BigDaddy were you afraid to take the stand or what?  :D :D :D :D  BTW, The previous lawsuit went to court over $1200 and TASO won it also. Bottom line is the painting is on the wall for who is doing the right thing, and who is the selfish, egotistical and arrogant refs from this area!!!!
Hey Lazeek - I heard that the the Beaumont UIL chapter went 0-2 in the lawsuits against the Deep East TX TASO bunch. 8) 8) I don't know how you find all this info out like the $4500 you mentioned above but I heard it is the exact amount that hit the TASO account a few months ago. YOU ARE THE MAN!!! ps  I guess the glove DID fit.  ;D ;D

Crews are selected for championship games based on their semifinal performance. Only six crews get championship games out of 18 that are here. These guys did a great job in their semifinal game and I am glad to see they got rewarded with a championship game. Great job Paul, Mike and Kelly!! 14.
I confirm what AAW said.  There will be some TASO Officials at the State Tournament.  And the names he mentioned are spot on!!!
If that is the group of officials that is going, you couldn't put a better crew together....in either chapter in Bmt. I'm pretty sure that's an all-NCAA crew & they will do an excellent job!!!!!!!!

The metro plex is growing down there, and I'm pretty sure they got more nicer venues, and better arena's.
If they were to move it, I say move it to San Antonio. More hotels there than Austin.
There was a big push from the San Antonio CVB about 15 years ago to move it to the AlamoDome. They came to Austin, wined & dined the UIL brass to no avail. I don't think Houston is the answer.
 18.
The good news: ! Our district will have two teams in the regional tourney and the Hawks won a less than stellar game with some very good free throw shooting toward the end of the game The bad news: 1. the coin flip theory of faninthestands worked ( although I was  somewhat correct in voicing my concern about the game  2.  I have to pay Soulja $20 for the Ozen- Central game and I have to pay Dicky V $100 for the Ozen game. 3.  The dunk-o-meter never moved tonite  Just remember our agreement Soulja, you are going to collect both bets so I dont have to face Dicky
Hey Nash, PayPal  is the BOMB!!!!!!!!!!
 19.
Burton probably wasn't the only one not nominated from OF.  You also had some players that stepped it up when district started. HJ, HF, and OF went to playoffs from this district.
Its not the norm for the dist. champs not to have the MVP. And in this case.......it should have been from the HJ squad after watching numerous games in this district.

 21.
Hey DICK!!! Give it a rest! You abviously think pretty highly of yourself. It's also not a good thing to sit in judgement. What I can tell you and anyone else that is reading this thread, is this. I have witnessed the traveling Ozen circus. The "bow tie wearing" water boys, the actions of the assistant coach, the head coach coaching from the stands while the freshmen and jv are playing and so on.... The taunting during the games by the water boys that sit in the stands right behind the players bench amking fun of the opposing team's players. All the while, the head coach just looks back at them with amusement. So you want to talk about KARMA..... I said earlier in the season that I was proud of the fact we (20 4-A) had the number 1 team in state. I would have been proud for them to win the whole thing. My girls have played select with some of the girls from Ozen. I agree that the signs were not a good idea. I'm sure the BH coach will address it. I didnt see any sign of poor sportsmanship we BH beat us in the first round. Good LUCK BH!
Ba Boom!!!! Well said LR
 22. Who went to the playoffs in this district?

This year was a pretty hard win for the Tigers.  I think the bigs from HJ will be the difference in this game.  HJ should win this by 12.  Good luck HJ.
What big wins?  Everybody knows HJ had no big wins with their cup-cake schedule!  ;)
I don't want to get into the schedule debate.  I think its #32 for HJ (very good fundamental post player) who will be the difference.
Ahhhh, I missed that one.  I thought "the bigs from HJ" was "the big wins for HJ". When IS my eye doctor's appointment again?
Hopefully you are one of the refs working the game @ Willis tomorrow night. If so, HJ bigs dominate, SP has 4 dunks & HJ wins by 19.
