  1.   I don't think it is what FF says as much as the arrogance in which he says it that bothers most people that read these boards. If everyone ignored him, he would go away, but as long as you let his arrogance bother you, he will continue to foam at the mouth of Friendswood's greatness like a rabid dog.  You cannot argue with 4 straight region championships.  However, if Friendswood wins region III again, they will again be LOSER'S of the State Championship along with the rest of us.  As Julie Johnson said, "If you don't win state, your last game is a lose."
I am just assuming that Friendswood's goal is to bring home a State Championship every year, where some of the smaller teams of lesser talent's goals are a little less loftier.  Is loftier a word?  All have a great evening.
  2. When the UIL announced 4 teams would go to the playoff's in all sports from 1A-5A, it would have been nice if they had split all the sports into division's I and II like football and have 2 champions.  That would give Lumberton, and other small 4A teams for the Goldentriagle and the state a more realistic chance to go further in the playoff's.  As mentioned in one of my previous post, it is hard for Lumberton with a student body of 1063 to compete with Midway, which has a student body of 1969.  If half of the students in each school are girls, that gives Miday 453 more girls to build there team from.  Or almost twice as many as Lumberton.

Oh well, since football makes all the money and is "THE" sport of Texas, all other sports will be 2nd, 3rd or 4th fiddle, with soccer falling somewhere beyond that.
  3.   What is the deal with Fan Behavier.  Our fathers have benn hollering at umpire's and ref's for over 100 years.  The word Fan comes from the word Fanatic.  We aren't at church or a funeral, its a sporting event.  It's not like people are dropping "F" bombs all over the place around little children and grandmothers.  They are just emotional about there team.  What if you were at an Astro, Texan, Rocket, or Dynamo game and it was quit for the entire contest.....boring.  Lighten up people.

Also in regards to the Lum-Ned game, I haven't heard much about the ref's other then the one commemt from the 'high' Ned fan about Ned dominating the game.  I thought is was one of the best refed games I have seen in the GoldenTriagle area.  Ned has played like that for the 4 years I watched when my dadughter played and were unluckly to get a group of ref's that weren't going to put up with it.  I feel sorry for the student athletes because they are just doing what they are being taught.
  4. I think everyone in region 3 would like to see someone else win the region other then Friendswood  region 3 has a chance at a state title.......yes Friendswood has won region 3 the last 4 years, but has failed to bring home the state title.....being the runner up made you the first LOSER.....and it is getting a little old.  With an enrollment of 1980 for Friendswood and 1969 for Waco Midway, I would certainly expect a victory over Lumberton that has an enrollment of 1063.5.   These are UIL's numbers not mine.  I also think everyone in the Golden Triangle would like for you to leave your comments on another web site besides this one.  So having said all that, I would root for any team that is playing against Friendswood.
  5. The bottom line folks is that running up a 14-0 score is classless.  Most teams that are any good have a rule to not obtain a double digit lead -- the one FHS win by a 10-0 score was, as I recall the result of an own goal when the score was 9-0 already.  My personal view is that the FHS coach shoud shut it down after a 6 goal lead (except if we ever play Lumberton).  And, there is a big difference between even 10-0 and 14-0.

As for calling the Lumberton girls slow-footed and stout, I have watched them play and slow-footed is an entirely accurate description.  I'm sorry if that hurts, but once (or if) you see teams from outside SE Texas, you will understand.  And, stout actually means strong but arrogant -- which aptly descibes any team that would put up 14 goals against a weak sister like Central!  As for those of you who jumped to the conclusion that I meant chubby or thick, I leave it to you to explain why you would assume such a thing, but don't you dare hang on me your aparently unspoken views about the fitness of the Lumberton players!

You say all these negative and ugly things about our coach, girls, and school, then have the audacity to ask us to pull for Friendswood in the playoffs.  You have no shame FWF.  Midway all the way.

  6. Have a friend who lives in Forney, about 25 miles east of Dallas.  His daughter is a Div 1 player who was 1st team all district as a freshmen.  She did not play for Forney this year to keep it from conflicting her club team. Her goal is to get a soccer scholarship and through research by her father my friend, decided this was the best route to go.  More comments?
