Nash brings up some good points (again). He's used this analogy a few times in which i haven't heard a strong rebuttal against.

I have yet to see anyone 'stop' Weisbrod. Some have slowed him down, but he's going to score. He's averaging 20.2 ppg. PNG held him to 5 first half points by packing in their zone. The result: English made 5/8 3s, Kimler added 2, and four others made 1 each. He ended the game with 15. His season low was 10 against Cy-Ridge, a game where English did not play bc of his ankle.

I watched 3-6'6" kids triple team Colton this summer in an AAU game, and he scored the game winning shot. He probably should have passed the ball to an open player, but fortunately it went in.

I don't recall Ozen having any Bigs who play much or who can 'stop' him. Maybe someone can correct me on that fact.

So, yall saying if Ozen (happens to) win, it will be an upset? Hold on a minute, let me make sure I'm not on the football forum before I post this.

Ain't it funny!? ;D

But I don't think it will be an upset whoever wins..

Weisbrod is the defending offensive MVP of the district and until proven otherwise, he will remain a task for anyone to stop.  Ozen does have speed and athleticism to slow him down as a team, but as someone have pointed out, what do you do with little English?  I'm very interested in knowing.  I think I'll attend this game.
I'm almost sure that Weisbrod, English and that group have never beaten a team I've been associated with since the 5th grade thru last summer. So I don't see why the streak can't continue Friday.

Nederland will have to keep making the 3. I think we will, so Ned by at least 5. The crowed is going to be a factor. The dome will be loud come Friday night. The Bulldog players feed from the crowd.
Nederland will not make any 3's if Ozen plays man!!!!!

Please note the wording carefully- I'm "almost" sure.

What would classify as a "big" night? Meaning points, rebounds, blocks, etc. etc....
I don't think either team should be expected to win or 'favored' to win. They are evenly matched, and I think home court will make a difference. These teams each won their game at home in district last year, and I would not be surprised if the same happens this year.

Over the past 3 seasons, these two teams have played 8 times. Ned won 5 of those games, so I'm uncertain of your reference to the FB forum?
Since English is 2 years older than the teams you mention, he has not played many of the teams you have been associated with. I know Ned beat a Beaumont team this past summer in 'summer ball', and last year, the Little Doves were on JV.
So you may be right since they have't played a real game yet. :)
Are you talking AAU teams? I don't recall MC Flight playing them over the past 2 summers, although in did miss a few games. Either way Dove, it's not organized basketball, and also, what's your point?

    • I will never understand why someone cares what decisions a family makes regarding their own child? Maybe Joe Burrow learns great life lessons from burning up all his eligibility sitting behind Justin Fields at Ohio State but I’m sure him and his family feel like they made the right decision by transferring to LSU, becoming the #1 pick and now being the highest paid QB in NFL history. Same for Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield and Jalen Hurts at their first stops.    I think it was more beneficial for Reggie Branch to transfer to Crosby and end up having an opportunity to play for a state title versus staying at GCM and learning life lessons while he loses and probably doesn’t go D1 because his team is a perennial loser. If Robinson throws for 2k yards this year it’s going to be a lot better for his recruitment purposes than sitting on the bench at BH, not to mention he’s going to get significant looks because of the kids he’s on the team with and the offers/commitments they’ve already made. He’s not being taught to run from competition, he’s being taught to gamble on himself just like all those other guys I mentioned did.
    • You have found Utopia. I live in the real world.
    • Every Yuppie wants one.  Give me a V-8 with loud pipes, and they can have their electric vehicles.  Was working a major incident one day and we had a road blocked off.  Police vehicles with lights going and a kid pulls up in a Tesla.  He - let me stress that HE is sobbing uncontrollably because he is at 5% battery life and HAS to go down the road we have blocked to get to a charging station.  He pulled over and literally threw a temper tantrum because we would not let him through.
    • Have you noticed that it's always the libs that bring up race?  For a long time now whenever a lib is losing an argument or have nothing else to say they bring up racism.  Or something silly like institutional racism.  LOL!
    • Ha!  Whatever that means!
