Silsbee will win this district while  WO-S and H-J  will battle for 2nd and 3rd.  I'm just interested in how the Hawks will replace a scoring threat like Prudhomme.

Johnson and Bosha will take up that slack.  Johnson can generate a quality shot any time he feels so inclined.
You'll need an inside threat.  Well maybe I should say, it will help to  have an inside threat against a team that can match with speed.  Prudhomme was your X factor last year.  I think you'll do fine in district as well because of coaching, but I'm interested in seeing how you'll adjust to life without the big fella.

It's really hard to replace a threat like Prudhomme but I imagine HJ will do the best they can and not embarrass themselves in district play.

TRANSLATION- Dove is absolutely dying for HJ to play Yates.  I wish I understood why he is so fascinated with this matchup.  After all, he has never mentioned how much he would like to see HJ play the Longhorns or the Aggies.

And why is it that a 3-a team from a town of a few thousand is anxious to meet with a 4-a team (recently reclassified) from a town of several million with players from out of state?  Could I interest you in a game of golf or tennis today:?
I'm sure if UIL had  a problem with Yates, it would have hit the front page by now and their titles taken away by now.

Forget the titles- why the fascination with a team from sour lake playing one from Houston- I noticed u didn't respond to my golf/tennis offer in spite of being so much younger.  HJ will do fine against any town with similar size and demographics- why not also lobby for them to play Oak Hill- that'll teach em a thing or two, won't it?

Why didn't Yates opt up to 4A?
Because HISD had all their schools not opt up. HISD knew that they could have their own 3A district which would help in the travel. That was the reason for those schools always opting up in the past because they did not want to be stuck in a district outside the loop. But, from what I was told, Yates actually thought their numbers would keep them 4A so they did not check the box. After the fact, some admins at Yates wanted to appeal but HISD said no.

From what I have been told, Yates will be back in 4A next realignment no matter what their enrollment is.

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. Texas does not have party registration, but a voter’s primary voting history is public. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
