PNG's freshman QB is one of the best I've seen at that age, that has nothing to do with coaching, plus you allowed 2 returns for TD's how is that coaching.  You may not have the best coaching, but you got flat out beat by PNG, give it a rest, you'll have another chance.
Well, I am not going to bash our coaches, but if you know your team and know that we have trouble open field tacking, you pooch kick to prevent a big play.

PNG did beat us, no excuses.

PNG QB is very good, but I dont think the Freshman team is loaded. Also, I think there is not much in front of that class (Soph, Jr's). Nederland is reloading when we lose our SR class this year and will easily be able blend our current Freshman with the current 8th graders in the future. The current sophmore class  is stacked and will be ok.

For all you posters on here thinking Nederland will not be making a run for DC's, you are under estimating what we really have.

The current (CO Wilson)Freshman dominated PN and Groves in middle school. PNG gained the upper hand when they merged. We lost a few players, I think we will gain what we lost when the 8th grade class fills in those losses when they get to sophmore/juniors. We will be fine.

Also, comparing the Ozen game with PNG and Vidors score, well PNG has not played Ozen if I remeber correctly and Vidor Freshman gave up 30 points. Nederland gave 14 and 1 of the scores were set up by a pooch kick off and the Ozen player took it down the sidleine to the 5 yd line. So Defense played well.

He's talking about when Ned sophs and PNG sophs were Freshman.  Nederland dismantled PNG's current sophomores in that game, much like this years PNG freshman dismantled Nederlands.  In my opinion, Nederland has the upper hand next year.  The following year when the current sophs are seniors, and the current Freshman are juniors, you'll have a coin flip as the PNG freshman will be strong contributors.

The PNG / Nederland 8th graders are pretty even, with possibly a nod to PNG, but I think that CO/Central class will see a huge leap in overall ability when combined, Central really has some players.

Nederland 7th grade gets the nod over PNG based on where they stand at this point and how games played out this year, but a lot could change since they are still so young.
I disagree, if watch last years Freshman game is was 30 something to 0 at halftime. The Nederland starters did not play much in the 2nd half. They could have score 80 points if they wanted to. This years game, the PNG team played the starters most of the game. If go back watch the game, this year Nederland Freshman had 4 chances in the red zone and came up empty on dropped balls that could have TD's.
I will admit, if want to be considered at good team, you make those plays.

PNG Freshman are very good have earned every win. But I would not compare last year Freshman game to this years. This years game, PNG scored as much as they could, PNG did not do anything that other teams have done to our defense.

I was at Ned/PNG freshman game this year and Nederland scored 3 times. Once on a KO return, once after a KO return to the 10 and one long drive. Outside of that they didn't threaten. Not a lot of Nederland offense or defense for that matter. PNG offense was on the field a lot.
Having an exceptional QB in HS goes a long way and with Sophomore Seay in Nederland and Freshman Morse in PNG I think both programs are in very good hands for a few years and will be surrounded with talented kids.

as they have been for the last 20 years, Nederland will be fine for the next several years
I've said on a couple of other posts that I'm looking forward to the next few years...will be some great games to watch from several schools! Wins are much better when you're playing good teams!  Makes for much more exciting games!

heck of baseball player, lefty smith kid can pitch as well as powerhitter.  also, another smith same age, heck of baseball player, (right handed pitcher), too.  played several years ago in select.

watched dayton scrimmage, thought lefty qb did great job.  probably jv only bright spot for ned that day.

fresh ned didnt show much at dayton.

It is what it is. Sorry it bothers you

actually nobody knows "what it is" and that is the problem...it is nothing more than speculation on your part (word on the street) and therefore irresponsible.

The freshman for Nederland against Dayton threw 3 tds and only had 2 incompletions. That was probably overshadowed by our poor defensive performance and gave 15 TD's

I took it off, but there is a thing called loyalty to your team no matter what. So i will drop it
No doubt about the loyalty of the Nederland kids on all levels, Varsity, JV, and Freshman.

These kids are "Team" players and care about the program. That's winners in my book.  And I look for that continue no matter what you say or "know"  PNGwhoever, (seems you need to take care of your own house)

As I said before, future looks bright in Nederland and maybe that's got your "goat" png94.

Ned JV....would try  Tinsley out for next season as linebacker.

SMH, why that kid comes off field for JV on defense and hope they move him up for playoffs.

Kid tackles, strong and fast, fast, fast!!!!!!!

Breaux does so much on defense as well.  Look for him to do big things next season as well.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
