You are NOT FROM HOUSTON....Guess what? I AM....How are YOU going to tell ME ANYTHING about MY city? Some of you people just do not exercise common sense at times..People in Houston don't give a flip about baseball....I DON'T know what you people from East Texas like nor do I care...I am from HOUSTON.

Makes absolutely no sense... ::)
Dude! Its baseball season, of course there are going to be some mentions of h.s. baseball. Now lets flip it a bit. During basketball season you don't see high school baseball mentioned. Thats my point ;)

Of course there is gonna be an article about the McDonald's game, the players being named to the team were just released.

And as to there not being any baseball articles during basketball season, I am supposed to believe that on your word? In your words...Next!!!

And it is a good thing I didn't take you at your word:

There was this one as the STATE BASKETBALL FINALS were being completed (you know? those ballgames you thought were being played at Gregory Gym?)

Here's another:

And I believe that there are more but chron.com's search tool aint the best in the world

You start off in this thread that nobody in Houston cares about high school baseball.  Remember this?
High School Baseball? Please, nobody keeps up with that sport in Houston.
And I give you Bellaire, one of the most storied high school baseball programs in the Nation.

You say the Chronicle didn't have any articles about baseball this week I gave you (and 4 of the six were previews on upcoming dsitrict races, not the "highlights" that you claimed).

You say that the Chronicle didn't have any articles about baseball during basketball season, I gave you 4 during final weeks of the basketball playoffs.

Now, oh they were done by freelance writers is your comeback.  Hate to tell you but most of the basketball articles were from those same writers.

In fact, I have STILL not seen the two articles you have mentioned and given your credibility as to accuracy, can't say I am willing to accept that they are there.

Are you doing anything in May, I want to take you to the International Crawfish Festival over in Breaux Bridge and enter you in the crawfish race.  We could make a killing.

Who said anything about 4th Ward? I'm not from that area.....What is the meaning behind THAT statement?
The meaning behind that statement is that RATHER than RELYING on the sample to PROVE your argument, you are MANIPULATING them sample to FIT your argument.

OK, whatever. I am from the city of Houston, and no one will tell me about MY city, especially if you are not from there.

http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-11557.html

Apparently there was a phone survey done a couple of years ago.

Here're the percentages of Houston adults at least moderately interested in various sports:

Football........73%
Basketball:....71%
Baseball........60%
Boxing..........50%
Soccer.........44%
Tennis..........41%
Golf..............40%
Auto Racing...39%
Ice Hockey....30%

Of those respondents 23% percent had a very high interest in football, 13% percent had very high interest in baseball, and only 5% had a very high intrest in basketball.

Clearly people in Houston care about baseball.

Isn't Baseball USA on Beltway 8? Funny, I thought I may have seen a few cars there.

DV, it takes a sense of humor to understand humor. I didn't expect you to getting anyway......about giving a flip.

Once again, if you are good at something, then you give a flip.

Craig Biggio and St. Thomas high gets alot of attention.
I'm from Houston and familiar with the history of Bellaire's baseball program and their [s]recruitment of players.[/s]..ooops! Its a high profile program, but not a news worthy program you hear about in the barber shops.
They are in the barber shops I go to.
[/quote  ::)  Unless Katy makes the playoffs- those barbers don't care nothing about Bellaire
Dove- First of all, I am shocked that you travel all the way to Houston to get your haircut.  Secondly, if you know what those barbers care and don't care about, it simply means that you and WOS grad both use the same barber(s).  I wonder why the two of you have such vastly different interpretations?
