Well congratulations to the Dogs for the year they had, and hats off to the Panthers for their success and good luck!!! Ozen and Central will we stacked for a few years to come. Should be some exciting basketball in
the future.
Appreciate it. The Dawgs will be around for a while too. We return 4 starters next year (3 SR/ 1 JR). Plus 5 Returning Letterman (3 SR/ 2 JRs). We also have a promising 8th grade team who will enter HS next year. The CO Wilson group only lost one game (Bmt MLK)) in two seasons. Their record was somewhere in the ballpark of 35-1! English's little brother is on that team!  ;)
Will continue to be a 3 way battle for a while!  8)
Those ML King Middle School kids are in a Central feeder school.  They'll more than likely be suited up in maroon and gray next year.  8) 8)
Doubt that VERY seriously...You will be surprised where those MLK kids could end up... ;)
You're thinking they will end up in Nederland, right??  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ned JV split with Ozen, and I think Central swept Nederland?? So Ned's JV was 11-3. BD3 probably kept up with it a little closer than most.
You are naive, Dawg.

I also said I wouldn't be surprised if we won district again, and many laughed at me!  8)
I really enjoyed the games. Central and Nederland had really good JV squads, along with Ozen. But Nederland will need more transfers to win outright district for the next 3-4 years.

True. Although we bring back most of our team, including our best two players, we will be lacking in height. Not that we were huge this year, but we are losing a 6'5" senior in Lubera. We have 2 other 6'4" kids who came off the bench this year who also return. Hopefully they can find some time to work on their game during the offseason since they are both football first guys. Who knows, maybe someone will grow 4-5" over the summer!  ;D
Kimler came on strong at the end of the year, and he will be a huge asset next season with his athleticism. He has the tools, but he is also a football first guy.

They would need Yates and Wheatley to close and then force an emergency bussing system from 3rd and 5th Ward directly into Nederland ISD, in order to have a shot at winning an outright title next year!! ;D ;D...With UIL approval of course!  ;) ;D ;D

A popular local coach?  One who is diplomatic and respects/honors the opinions of others without demeaning them?  One who can teach the players not only how to play basketball but how to get along with others?  I can't blame them for waiting on that.

who won out of the jv s
Ned JV split with Ozen, and I think Central swept Nederland?? So Ned's JV was 11-3. BD3 probably kept up with it a little closer than most.
I really enjoyed the games. Central and Nederland had really
good JV squads, along with Ozen. But Nederland will need more transfers to win outright district
for the next 3-4 years.

True. Although we bring back most of our team, including our best two players, we will be lacking in height. Not that we were huge this year, but
we are losing a 6'5" senior in Lubera.

Hahahahahaha, UH-NO!  ;D ;D
Just admitting a weakness.  ;)
We will be back on top next year, again.  8)

There is a kid from Marshall who will be a factor around here for a while.  Nederland folks know him from tournament ball.  From what I've seen he is in the top 5 in Bmt for his age.  He had some eligibility issues this year, but won't in the future (or his dad might kill him!).

If the current crop of 8th graders decided together where to go (King kids, plus the Marshall kid, etc), it could get interesting.  If there was an obvious choice, i.e. an exceptional coach in the bunch, it would likely happen.  As it is now, who knows....

But I do know that there has been some plotting and planning going on among the kids...

    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
    • See why I don't trust my Hogs?
    • Come on dude, don’t take anything away from the kids on the field. If you want to talk uncharacteristic, we made what 3 or 4 errors in game one. Y’all had 2 EARNED runs.  Defense is normally our strong suit. Your ace didn’t strike out a single one of our kids. Like I said also, you did not out hit us in game 1. Hell you barley out hit us in game 2. We had all the uncharacteristic walks. Josh pitched a hell of a game is what made that game what it was.
