The only thing hj's intellectual power would have done is told them to get the heck out from under the basket before they were "posterized". The only question is would they have had enough athletic ability to do so.
Agreed.  It would have been the biggest athletic humiliation in the history of Texas High School basketball.

yates sure is fielding a pretty good looking college team this year...
Tell you what bullets, given the appearance across the board of that Lions team, I would have been asking for some birth certificates if I were the opposing coach! ;D ;D ;D
Heres what you will find out about many players who are getting a lot of press. Yates players included. Most have always been older and not in their right grades. Some parents hold their kids back, while others may have failed at an early age AND had late birthdays. By high school, it really doesn't make too much a difference. But 5th year seniors is kinda pushing it for schools like Trenton and Findley Prep.
After watching the highlights (thanks AAW) this is a fact not an opinion. If #12 is Swift, then he is as much of a high school sophmore as I am and I'm pushing 40. Maybe he should be a junior but senior is more likely. What an embarassment for Texas high school athletics. I would really like to see the UIL continue to crack down on these acts in an effort to reward all those student athletes out there that do it the right way in the classroom and on the court.
#12 is Swift and he is listed as a sophomore.
As I said, you can list me as a sophomore but that doesn't make it right or even true.

But what makes him NOT an actual 10th grader? Do you know him? Probably not...his family? I doubt that too...Stop making statements about kids that you know nothing of...Melvin Swift is a 10th grader, wh ois SUPPOSED to be a tenth grader..ask me how I know that.... ;)

I guess that means you have abandoned your projections for the Longhorns.
With Yates in the mix, yes! And remember to include HJ ;)

Example: Cleveland will dress 7 sophomores for tonights game against HF. Five of which are true sophomores. Just doesn't seem fair to those kids but I know thats just the way it is.

Once again...YOU DONT KNOW THAT TO BE FACT...
Dicky- you might want to look at his board name.  There is a clue that indicates he may very well be considerably more familiar with the Cleveland squad than you are ( although  I know that is hard for you to accept as a possibility)

There is a slight difference.  Nobody from HJ ever projected titles or appearances in Austin.  I think your suggestion is a sound one anyway.  Think of all the costs the schools can save by simply awarding a school the regional title instead of having to travel and play for it.

No, I don't know much about Cleveland or their kids athletic status, but I DO know that people will ALWAYS try to figure out WHY certain kids or teams are as talented as they are..."They MUST be cheating" is what is claimed by people who have the SLIGHTEST CLUE as to what is actually going on...Yates' HS head coach, Greg Wise, I have known for many years...he is definitely smarter than most on here give him credit for being..He will not and have not played INELIGIBLE players, or there would have been a PENALTY up to and including possible termination from his position (See Wheatley HS for that example)..Stop trying to figure out or create scandal and just accept what it is.

DV, this morning my wife saw the T-shirt I bought last night hanging over a chair at the kitchen table. She loved it! Wanted to know why I didn't buy her one. ;D

She loved the slogan on the back of the shirt:

"Put the Crown on it! Reclaiming the Throne!!"

"OOH, AHH, 3rd Ward High!!"

;D ;D ;D

Seems like Cleveland I.S.D. needs to work on the grades instead of Basketball.
