After dropping their week 1 game to Calhoun, they have been on a roll. Looked good against Tivy. But idk, too close to call. Gonna come down to ball control and that infamous yellow flag.
I say manvel should take it if they play the way they have been playing all season... BTW dustoff03, did you make it to the Angleton vs Dawson game?

Afraid not. The Calhoun fans here at Formosa were so distraught after losing to Tivy that they decided everyone needed to work Sat and Sun. Only game I saw was Sunday night NFL. Sounded like a nailbiter as predicted. Congrats to yall on a great season. Unfortunately my hopes of someone beating LT are probably gone. I don't think Dawson will do it.

Lets think about this logically. LaMarque always beats Callalen in this round of play. & Manvel has beat LaMarque twice. Im thinking Callallen is counting their chickens just cause manvel is new. But lets renember, this is only thier third year of varsity football & they have dominated every team. They are from the toughest district 24-4A

Calallen's never beaten a Reg 3 team.  LM turned them back numerous times.  WO-S got them once.  Can't see why Manvel doesn't beat them as well

You're almost correct. Calallen beat Brenham (Reg 3) in the Semis in 2005. They've lost every other time though. I will have to go with Manvel in this one.
Yeah, we were one catch away from winning that one. Apparently, when thrown into a 30mph headwind the speed at which a pass travels decreases significantly after about 10 yards - (which enables a defender to get between the ball and its intended target much easier) :o Then, with less than a minute left and a four point lead, the opposition can just run the clock down. That's cool tho, 13-1 is still the best record (and team) Angleton has ever had in their history! (Not to mention a better record than Dawson's @ 12-2, and fixin' to be 12-3)!! LOL!!
I'm sure the 'Cats will be a force to be reckoned with next season too! I agree with you about Dawson and LT. I will be surprised if LT doesn't pluck all the eagles' feathers and send them home crying...BTW thanks for supporting Angleton! That's really cool of you. You know, not being from the area and all. :) Oh, Yeah... GO MAV'S!!!!

Calallen will have to do it with the back-up QB.  It's being reported on Twitter that the starter Dorsey is done  for the season with a knee injury.

It's too bad Manvel went DII because they could have been the team to beat LT.  That being said, I'm with Panama....42-13.

I sorta agree with the LT comment, but the 2 times I've seen Manvel, they made way too many mistakes to hang with LT. They've def. got the talent and depth though.

Calallen's gonna get hammered in this one.... 42-13 sounds good to me as well.... maybe 42-17
Kinda wish we would have got a shot at LT myself, but I'll take Calallen... LOL!  Honestly our kids have to play hard and not underestimate this squad.  I saw their film and they look like a very good football team.  Hopefully we can pull it out.  HOKA HEY!!!  GO MAV'S!!

Maybe you don't want to get overconfident but I'm happy to oblige....we must be watching different films or something.  This shifty little running back may break loose once or twice but there won't be any sustained drives.  I also don't see the Calallen defense stopping Manvel without a bunch of turnovers (which honestly I've seen before ;).  Manvel is going to dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and has better skill players and more depth.  Hence, I see a blowout but I've been wrong before.

Manvel should take this one, but don't go in over-confident. LaMarque made the last game close in the second half! Good luck Mavs.
LaMarque made some great adjustments at halftime and made a game of that one!  Hopefully we can play better Saturday... We have the talent to win it all, but we got to take one play at a time.  Cut down on penalties, mistakes and stay focused for 4 quarters!  MAV NATION!

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
