What kind of size ad speed are we looking at going up against EC? I know you guys are run heavy but how big should we expect and fast should we expect.

Tatum stand outs

#2 QB Jalen Overstreet(UT Comiitt) - 6'3 217 lbs, 4.5
#27 RB/DE L.J. Johnson - 6'2 220, 4.6
#1 WR/LB/S Nate Pickett - 6'3 200, 4.6
#18 TE/DE Daven Reese 6'2 220, 4.7
#52 C/DT L.A. Hale 6'2 285, 4.8

Okay, now that we have had the Tatum combine, how about some stats on what these guys have done on the field?

Gone to have to stop QB #2 Jalan Overstreet then game over. Otherwise it's a close game. A little fudging on the #'s. #2 Jalan Overstreet 6'2", 205LBS 6.56 and has UT Committed YES. Stop him and their done. Stop'em won't be easy. Tatum defense has given up alot of points. Game will be decided on the field and talk is cheap.

So according to Maxprep's Tatum is-

11-2. Impossible
3-0 at neutral field. Not yet
and last but no least has scored ZERO points in the 3rd quarter this year.

Come on Maxpreps, get with it.

Watched the EC-Newton game and looks like it could turn into a score fest.  I see many similarities between Newton and Tatum.  Newton can not throw the ball as well and does not have the recievers that we have.  QB did not have near the power and speed of Overstreet.  EC QB is a good QB, but I noticed he floats the ball some and that could be trouble for EC.  EC has good team tackling, but not great speed on the outside and I see some match-up problems with the DB's.  Will definately be better than Woodville and about as good, or maybe a slight bit better than Cameron Yoe.  The big Highlight I see for EC is there running back #27.  Seems he does best when he lines up in the wildcat and takes the direct snap.  Never really saw him as a threat for passing, but maybe he has an arm.  I plan on watching another game this afternoon, maybe Malakoff or Buna.  I am sure that EC improved during that time.

Tatum should be on there up swing this week.  It has been a roller coaster ride up and down with this team, and they only played two good quarters against Yoe, so I expect them to have a better game this Friday, if they are not to stuffed with turkey.  lol

Same site had Grandview 17 point favorites over Daingerfield last week..

Also only had Tatum favored by 17 over Woodville.

For what it's worth.

I do know this for a fact, If Tatum does pull out the win, I know that it will get ugly against Crockett if you meet them!! Crockett handled Newton pretty easy and will probably run away with Tatum. I went to the Newton/Crockett and after seeing both teams play, it won't be close!!

What you think you know for fact is simply an opinion.

Crockett is indeed for real but in my own opinion, they were better last year.

It’s all opinion till the game is over, but it is their opinion. They are pretty accurate most of the time, but definitely not all the time as shown above. Good point Eagleborn.

Tatum and Crockett are almost identical. Crockett is just a little better at all areas. Including their top athlete :)

What kind of size ad speed are we looking at going up against EC? I know you guys are run heavy but how big should we expect and fast should we expect.

Tatum stand outs

#2 QB Jalen Overstreet(UT Comiitt) - 6'3 217 lbs, 4.5
#27 RB/DE L.J. Johnson - 6'2 220, 4.6
#1 WR/LB/S Nate Pickett - 6'3 200, 4.6
#18 TE/DE Daven Reese 6'2 220, 4.7
#52 C/DT L.A. Hale 6'2 285, 4.8
#24 RB Shaq Johnson 5'5 155, 4.4
#34 LB Kinao Lucas 6'0 215, 4.6
#16 LB/RB Keshawn Smith 6'1 180, 4.5(freshman, son of former Oakland Raider LB Travian Smith)
#54 DE Caleb Mobley 6'3 280

Okay, now that we have had the Tatum combine, how about some stats on what these guys have done on the field?

Gone to have to stop QB #2 Jalan Overstreet then game over. Otherwise it's a close game. A little fudging on the #'s. #2 Jalan Overstreet 6'2", 205LBS 6.56 and has UT Committed YES. Stop him and their done. Stop'em won't be easy. Tatum defense has given up alot of points. Game will be decided on the field and talk is cheap.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but Overstreet was 213 at beginning of season, so it's not unbelievable that he is 217 now.

The sweet thing about past records and how teams have done in the past is there is ALWAYS an unexpected team that upsets those records. I think we should just leave the talking to the players on Friday night!  I think Tatum is going to be surprised they seem a little cocky.
Ok, but I must warn you, while your players are talking about  prom dates, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or whatever, our players will be playing.  Hope they have a nice chat.  lol

Predictions like [s]Green Bay Pac.... [/s] I mean Tatum wins 56-12, and now an NFL roster for Tatum is posted...Hmmm... doesn't sound like EC should even bother showing up for the game...  ;)

You can take your cracks at me all you want but the bad thing is.....I'm not joking....these kids really are this big, lol. We're always that big and usually faster, we're much slower than year's past though. We have 4 or 5 DI prospects as we do every year. All I was doing was asking about your kids and trying to give you a little info on ours. The 56-12 prediction definitely isn't my prediction. I know this is gonna be a game. I think this game will be within 1 or 2 TDs.....the homer in me says Tatum, the homer in you says EC. It will all unfold friday night.

Agree with the last part. Were all homers on here, and this will be an exciting game and gonna be close. But in the first part of you post. You know the old saying, The bigger they are the harder they fall. ;D But hey all jokeing aside. This is the biggest game that probably both teams has faced all year. I think if Crockett gets disqualified (if thats the right word) then the winner of this could very well go to state.

False....no fudging on the #s......That is how big Jalen was at the bieginning of his junior year...the recruiting databases never changed it.......talk to his mother in the stands all the time. Last camp he was at, 6'3 217, 4.5

yeah, a sensible person doesn't expect a blowout in the playoffs.  Anything can happen.  It could go either way or it could actually end up a blowout either way.  good luck to you guys

Basically we know very little about EC other than the fact that you guys average over 300 yards on the ground a game. You basically know that we have a QB in which is committed to the University of Texas that has the skills to completely take over a game, which he has done many time. 3rd and 6 might as well be 3rd and 1 for this guy when he takes to the ground. He is powereful, and has good speed when he breaks out in the open. UT didn't offer him for nothing. He has plenty of weapons to throw to and a big bruising RB to give it to, plus a small scat back. We have more weapons than him but yes, he does make the world turn in Tatum football.
