1. Tatum's Samuel Zapata kicked a 44 yard FG and a 40 yard FG....also had 3 touchbacks on kick offs. Pickett had 2 INTs.....one returned for a TD, Noel had an INT return for a TD as well.
 2. Gonna be a good game......getcha popcorn ready. You might get to see some of this................. [img][Hidden Content]]
 3. Crockett is very undisciplined........they stacked the box against Harmony and killed their one demensional attack. They'll have their hands full with Overstreet and his duel threat capabilities.

 5.
Game looks to be getting away from Bullard...Don't think they have the firepower to come back from this big a deficit without alot of help from WOS...
Yeah....32-13, Bullard is done....they aren't a big comeback team like that......they aren't gonna be able to play there game now....they'll have to start going down field and it aint gonna be good.

 7. WOS is twice as big as Bullard and 3 times as fast but Bullard is gonna fight tooth and nail til the final whistle. More often than not they suprise everyone at the finish. The Panthers are a tough team....uncharcteristically they've turned the ball over 3 times though...WOS must be doing something right on defense.....they usually dont turn it over much.
 8. WO-S is killing themselves.........you cant play like that against Bullard.
 9. Can't make mistakes against Bullard....they are well coached, they wont make many mistakes....they win with discipline not athleticism.
 10. Bulard moving the ball well right now They're small but they are well coached and they play hard.
 11.
But next week if you play Crockett its gonna be a challenge for you Tatum boys!!
Yeah....in round 4, everybody is good. Should Crockett win....which they likely will, I expect one hell of a game.
 12.
I still say Overstreet is Tatum's only good player. He has been the only name mentioned basically
So Overstreet scored every TD by himself....made all those INTs by himself....held Glenn Rogers to less than 20 yards in the first half all by himself? #27 Johnson, #54 Mobley, and # 52 Hale were in the backfield all night. Pickett and Sessions both had 2 INTs each. The safety's and corners came up to make good hits to dislodge balls upon impact. Our 1st string defense yielded nothing and Overstreet doesn't even play on defense....and hes the only good player we have? No wait....i get it, he was on the sideline hooked up to Madden controlling our defense. Good season guys....but dont tell me Overstreet is the only good player that we have. Is he our most potent weapon? Yes he is. Did you get a giant dose of him? Yes you did. When the star power made sure the game was in hand did we show the rest of our assault? Yep. In every game we use our deadliest weapon...if they can not stop it.....why fix it if it aint broke? If they can limit him then we usually start mixing in a lot of #24, #27, #6, and #5 in the backfield. Last night Overstreet needed very little help so he didn't get it til late in the game.
 13.
Went and watched this one. Did not know Tatum was this good. Overstreet is the real deal. I have watched Crockett and Tatum both play and this should be a great match up (assuming Crockett wins). Both have good size with outstanding QB's. Hope someone will post the place and time for that game. Best of luck EC, you had a good year.
EC has nothing to hang their heads about. They played a heck of season. They were picked to miss the playoffs and went 3 rounds deep. Stellar group of coaches and young men. I wish them the best.
 14. Great season Bucs, I loved the kids attitudes. Everytime they tackled Overstreet or any of our guys they were quick to help them up...a lot of class. My take on the game. The size difference played a big role. Our front 4 on defense were big enough and athletic enough to take a huge tole on the EC O-line. The whole first half Roberts was having to break tackles before he reached the line of scrimmage. I dont think he could have had more than 20 yards in the first half. Our secondary did a good job laying hits as soon as the ball reached the receivers. You could tell that EC has banked on the run game all year.....we were able to shut it down and the passing game just wasn't there when we shut the run down. We had 4 or 5 INTs and dropped 3 or 4 more. Once we put in the JV and freshmen kids on defense Roberts showed some flair in the running game...he has good moves when he gets out in the open field.....our starting front 7 just never really let that happen. Hope your player with the hurt anke has a speedy recovery and I wish you guys the best of luck in basketball and the rest of the sports this year.
 15. Longview News-Journal Capsule CLASS 2A DIVISION I REGION III SEMIFINAL Tatum (10-2) vs. Winnie East Chambers (9-2) 7:00 p.m. Abe Martin Stadium, Lufkin Coaches •Tatum: Andy Evans •East Chambers: Last week: Tatum 21, Cameron Yoe 14; Winnie East Chambers 24, Malakoff 7. Up next: Winner faces Harmony or Crockett in the 2A Division I Region III final. On the air: www.kgasradio.com Players to watch •Tatum: QB Jalen Overstreet, Sr., 6-3, 211 (89 of 175, 1,621 yards, 14 TDs, 6 INTs; 192 carries, 1,286 yards, 23 TDs; committed to Texas) ... RB/LB L.J. Johnson (76 carries, 520 yards, 8 TDs; 13 catches, 332 yards, 3 TDs) ... WR Nate Pickett, Sr., 6-3, 200 (44 catches, 834 yards, 9 TDs) ... RB Shaq Johnson (112 carries, 652 yards, 2 TDs) ... K Mario Guevara (28-yard FG vs. Malakoff) ... LB Kirby Johnson, Sr., 6-0, 180 ... QB Brandon Johnson, Soph. ... OL Kyle McCrary, Sr., 6-2, 240 ... LB Taylor Reddell. By the numbers Tatum: Jalen Overstreet was responsible for 79.9 percent of Tatum’s 485 yards against Cameron Yoe ... Tatum has rushed for 3,042 yards as a team after last week’s 277-yard performance ... The Eagles average 6.4 yards per carry as a team. East Chambers: East Chambers has won nine games in a row ... The Buccaneers have held six consecutive opponents to 13 or fewer points ... East Chambers has scored at least 35 points in seven of its last nine games. Keys to victory: Tatum must slow Glenn Roberts, who is about 100 yards away from the 2,000-yard mark. The Tatum offense is in for a fight considering East Chambers’ recent defensive performances. The Bucs have yielded double digits once in their last six games and held six foes to nine points or fewer. Tatum cannot do what it did last week, which was rack up a lot of yardage and not cash in on every scoring opportunity. The Eagles must make every drive count. Did you know: Arkansas Razorback starting safety Tramain Thomas is from East Chambers.
 16.
Please continue to write off EC. The Bucs have been written off all year. Was picked 4th in the district, and not making playoffs. Was predicted to lose by 50+ points to the supposed district champs. EC is too small, too slow, and "not good enough" to even matter.  ;)
Was Newton's starting RB out when ya'll played them this year? Just curious.
 17. A 1 man team? 5 DI prospects from recruiting databases QB Jalen Overstreet - [Hidden Content] WR Nate Pickett - [Hidden Content] - he is listed at 185 on this recruiting database..........after you see him friday....tell me he aint 200....... RB/DE L.J. Johnson - [Hidden Content] TE/DE Daven Reese - [Hidden Content] C/DT L.A. Hale - [Hidden Content]
 18. Aight....now its just becoming stupid.....We'll just say he ranges somewhere between 5'5 and 6'5, between 160 and 230 lbs....runs between a 4.2 to a 4.6 40 yard dash, and we'll tack on that hes big enough, fast enough, and throws well enough for the University of Texas to offer him a scholarship at QB that he accepted. Basically you say stop Overstreet and we're done. So I could basically say stop Roberts and ya'll are done? We'll have to shut down Roberts on the ground but you have to not only stop Overstreet's legs, but his arm as well. Roberts has 1800 rushing yards, the next guy to him has 327 yards. Your QB has thrown just one less INT than TDs so I'm guessing throwing against us wont be on the agenda too much. But c'mon guys....you and I both know you we have more than Overstreet and ya'll have more than Roberts. So in one of ya'lls previous post stating stop "O" and we're done.....give it a rest, cuz just like us you guys rely on one man to pretty much do it all as well........the difference is, ours throws the ball too, yours can only run it, lol.
 19. Arp is pretty dang rowdy. CC will have to play their best game in this one....and even then I think they will still come up short. I see Arp being ther top dog outta this side of the bracket.
 20.
Watched some film and Overstreet is one heck of a player. As a passer, the film on Overstreet mostly shows him throwing touch passes in the redzone for jump-ball touchdowns to a WR #1 Nate Pickett. WR #1 Nate Pickett is their go to receiver, but # 24 Shaq Johnson will come out of backfield for short pass. Just my opinion, Overstreet is the team passing and running. He can take over the game if you let him.
Yeah..hes a special player who will have a big career. Here's a link to his early senior season highlight real against the 3A teams we played.  He also has a video of  one play where he got play of the week on a highlight show by stiff arming a guy then jumping over another guy on his way to a 51 yard TD run against Bullard who has an up hill battle against West Orange-Stark this week. Go check him out....hes a heck of a player. [Hidden Content]

[/s] I mean Tatum wins 56-12, and now an NFL roster for Tatum is posted...Hmmm... doesn't sound like EC should even bother showing up for the game...  ;)
You can take your cracks at me all you want but the bad thing is.....I'm not joking....these kids really are this big, lol. We're always that big and usually faster, we're much slower than year's past though. We have 4 or 5 DI prospects as we do every year. All I was doing was asking about your kids and trying to give you a little info on ours. The 56-12 prediction definitely isn't my prediction. I know this is gonna be a game. I think this game will be within 1 or 2 TDs.....the homer in me says Tatum, the homer in you says EC. It will all unfold friday night.
Agree with the last part. Were all homers on here, and this will be an exciting game and gonna be close. But in the first part of you post. You know the old saying, The bigger they are the harder they fall. ;D But hey all jokeing aside. This is the biggest game that probably both teams has faced all year. I think if Crockett gets disqualified (if thats the right word) then the winner of this could very well go to state.
I dunno about that....we played all 3A competition in non-district. Gilmer(#3, in 3A), Bullard(still alive in 3A), Atlanta, Diboll, Pittsburg......actually went 4-1 against them. But EC wont be the best team we've seen all year, Gilmer was much better than EC. Bullard liekly as well. We've taken our bumps and bruises but we've seen the likes of the Gilmers....I think we're ready for anything thrown at us.....best of luck Bucs.
