Ozen over BH is not an upset. You cant look at the records and scores and go off of that. Ozen has some great athletes on that team.
Upset in my opinion as well.
Yeah, I would call it an upset as well, for the same reasons mentioned above.
Also, the game was played at the Hill's home field.
They are the District champions, 9-1, at home, against the 4th place team that needed help to get into the playoffs.

Although I saw it as an upset, I thought that Ozen had about a 50-50 chance of winning.
Maybe a little less than 50% since it was at the Hill.

If it weren't for the fact that EVERYONE (including BH fans) knows that BH can't go deep in 4-A, it would have been a huge upset...

too bad the bh coaches couldnt outcoach a bunch of ardvarks(sp)....good luck coach nelson/staff and team the pear is behind you
The aardvark comment earlier last week was a compliment.  an aardvark is an anteater and of course you  know, Barbers Hill mascot is an ant mound.

And aardvarks are cute.  Thanks to the picture, my 5-year-old son wants one for Christmas.

BH was severely overrated. This was not that big of an upset. Ozen plays in a tougher district (obviously). BH fans heads were too big and they got everyone else believing the hype. There was never anything there. I knew when things got real Dayton would strive forward and BH would fall, not necessarily in the first round, but eventually. If BH would have beaten Crosby then I would say it was a huge upset, but after showing that they weren't all that, it was obvious they would fall soon, sooner than Dayton at least. The biggest upset was Coldspring only beating BC 7-0. I'm hearing Sherman Gilbert played with the flu, and Monroe was injured early on. Something had to have happened because I saw both teams play this year early on, and I thought CS was going to blow BC out.
Matt Menard got hurt early on for BC, too. CS still had their best player on the field and BC did not. Had Menard not gotton hurt BC probably gets at least one score. Don't use the injury excuse for not blowing out a team you all said you would have beaten into submission at halftime.

A win is a win. Say whatever you want about why BC lost, but it doesn't matter. Now since CS did win the game, it is more rational to make excuses as to why they did not win by more. That was a slip up by CS. Fortunately the still won. Now they can use that game to better themselves now that they have come close to seeing a loss. This was their first game of the season. Huffman was fairly close, but lets face it, every player on that field knew who was going to win that game. Congrats to Huffman for playing hard, but anyways, this was their first test.

I ended up with a 98% winning percentage in predictions for 4a and 3a regular season this year. My playoff predictions include 5a in which I usually dont do too bad. I had BH to win and thought they would at least make it to the Brenham game.I also picked Lufkin, thought that was a pretty good upset as well.Had Coldspring lost I think I'dve gave up. ::)

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. Texas does not have party registration, but a voter’s primary voting history is public. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
