I believe their JV will be there too. If memory serves me correctly, Nederland JV played Ozen JV in the finals last year??

You should come to The Bulldog Classic the 2nd weekend of December. Lots of good local teams plus The Village and HYCA.
[/quote]I was there last year. Very good teams participated. If the JV plays in that tournament, I'll be watching Ozen's JV compete.

kids have a lot to prove with no starters returning. Unless you've seen them play (more than one summer game back in June), then you are in for a pleasant (or unpleasant) surprise!  ;D

[/quote]I saw where a couple of basketball analyst in Texas say 4-A is pretty weak this year. So I guess some good trash talking will help liven things up in this area.

I was joking when I guessed that! And these guys are the Gold Standard on this topic? Look Dove, everyone has an opinion, I just find it hard to rely on a group in Austin to make a blanket statement on an entire state. Plus, who cares if 4Au is 'down' this year? How is that relevant to who wins? I think that's what we are currently interested in, no? If a kid is good enough to go to the next level, great. But why does it matter if a field of 100 or so schools is less talented (in one's opinion) than the year before?

I was joking when I guessed that! And these guys are the Gold Standard on this topic? Look Dove, everyone has an opinion, I just find it hard to rely on a group in Austin to make a blanket statement on an entire state. Plus, who cares if 4Au is 'down' this year? How is that relevant to who wins? I think that's what we are currently interested in, no? If a kid is good enough to go to the next level, great. But why does it matter if a field of 100 or so schools is less talented (in one's opinion) than the year before?

      FBC transfer most likely will. He’s already been on several recruiting visits and has been looking decent on the camp circuit for only being a freshman. I don’t think his family will let him sit past this year though.   JV kid is decent but he’s not really anybody I think you want to rely on competing against good teams with. He has some moxie but he’s smallish and doesn’t have a lot of arm talent. I think he would stay and be a backup no matter what or switch positions if the FBC kid stays.

      I guess you heard wrong? All of the sophomore studs he grew up with are on varsity and several played great in the Spring game, 4/5 will start and the others are in the two deep. Only kid I heard about going to Dayton is the receiver that left to go to North Shore and he hasn’t even been playing football. Leaving was what he felt was best for his kid, sometimes you have to make those choices. My son would’ve left last year too if he could’ve gotten eligible, doesn’t mean I would’ve liked Crosby less.
