;D ;D OK, you baited me on this one Nash!!

Really though, Central, Nederland, and Ozen are the best teams in the district. Cant argue any other way unless you dont know enough about them to properly judge. Central is the favorite because they have the best player. Nederland will surprise alot of people expecting a down year losing all those seniors, lots of talent there. Ozen has young players too, and will be even better if Green can become the player he was before the injury, that's a tough thing to come back from in basketball.. Very competitive district race this year

Houston St. Pius X. They are ranked 15th in the preseason poll for (Big) Private Schools. They have two D1 commits.
Yeah I've seen their D1's.They gonna kill yall ;D ;) ::)
Very good analysis!  applause from me.  I want to add that Green is a tough customer and will be the same player as before, IMO.  also, Central will be good as well as Mitchell was playing very good last year.  Nederland probaly have the best coaching in district.  And even though those seniors from last year are gone, English will have his young team in the mix.

Don't think so Dove, but you keep on telling yourself that Nederland is no good.  ;)
I'm sure you're not alone in your prediction(s) since Ned lost a lot of players to graduation. I understand outsiders thinking that, and these kids have a lot to prove with no starters returning. Unless you've seen them play (more than one summer game back in June), then you are in for a pleasant (or unpleasant) surprise!  ;D

We used to beat Ozen all the time.  That is untill Perkins came on the scene.  We've lost to hem every time since then untill the 2009-2010 season.  We split the series.  We did it again in the 2010-2011 season, splitting the series.  This year, we're going for the season split.
Wow! Ask, and u shall receive from Soulja-appreciate the info! I wouldn't be surprised with a split between Central & Ozen as well.
Your welcome. I'm sorry.  Not the season split.  We want the series sweep.  We also want to beat them as I know we will play them in a couple of these tourneys.

Interesting, most pollsters know Nederland will be chasing from the rear this year ;)
Which pollsters are u referring to, 'The Dove Group'?
I'm just saying: Nederland is polled in 3rd spot on most polls. Somebody must know something ;)
Yes, we know we have NO starters coming back. Young guns will step up this year and open up some eyes!!
I'm sure those seniors last year did take those young guns under their wing and some of that magic have rubbed off.  Don't Nederland still have the English kid or was he a senior as well?

No starters return, but Weisbrod and English played as much as the starters. Weisbrod started a few games last year, and English started about 10-12 games. Anyone who watched these kids play last season (and this summer) know that Nederland will be tough again this year to beat. Their 1st game will be a great measuring stick w/ST. Pius coming
to town. Another good match up will be the Monday before Thanksgiving at HJ.
Ok.  That answered my question about English.  I  already know that Weisbrod will be a force.

I wouldn't go that far just yet. He has to prove it 1st. He had a good Fresh year, no doubt. However, I've seen a few players over the past 5 years who had succes while they were underclassmen, then become content when they become Seniors. Gotta hope he keeps his 'team' mentality and not develop a 'me' mentality. If the Dawgs are going to be good, they have to play team ball.
Ok.  That answered my question about English.  I  already know that Weisbrod will be a force.
I honestly believe that Weisbrod is likely to be the best post player in the area this year, regardless of classification
I think the "da Dawgs"  ::) had a good run in a short period of time. Should have been fun while it lasted ;)

Oh Dove, U kill me! Just don't be surprised in March when the Dawgs are the last team standing in the playoffs (again) from District 20-4A!

I'll make sure I'm at at least two games this year and possibly more. But then again, been looking at yall all summer.

You should come to The Bulldog Classic the 2nd weekend of December. Lots of good local teams plus The Village and HYCA.
I was there last year. Very good teams participated. If the JV plays in that tournament, I'll be watching Ozen's JV compete.
