Can someone tell me, What constitutes and illegal motion of celebration when a ball carrier makes a touchdown? :-\
[/quote]

I've never heard of an illegal motion of celebration? But if you are talking about a personal foul (unsportsmanlike conduct), then its usually a judgement call. At least in high school in college anyway. The pros have more stringent guidelines (at least for my 'boys) but I won't get into that here. They usually let them get away with high fives or a hip jump, etc.

Never heard of such a penalty. Are you asking about the "excessive celebration" penalty?

That rule states that a player can not "draw attention to himself". That leaves a lot of room for interpretation.

illegal motion can be 2 or more guys in motion at the snap, one or more guys never getting set for one second before the snap, more than 4 in the backfield which is actually a different signal but sometimes gets confused..celebration has been relaxed and is more of a judgement call this year. I can tell you on my crew we let the kids have fun, a little, but never taunt. Some other crews are less tolerant, others are probably more so.

For my crew excessive is a choregrapghed dance routine or some kind of NFL thing with the ball or if they don't quit when i tell them them to. Hi fives, chest bumps etc. are ok. Do it and get off the field. Nothing wrong with kids being happy. Don't belittle/taunt/show up an opponent though. That pulls yellow immediately.

Tee, I did the Billy White Shoes in the endzone one time after catching a td pass, no flag in the 70's but I should have received one for a bad imitation !!!  lol

There should be an exception to this rule whenever a lineman scores a touchdown.  If a big boy gets in the endzone he should be allowed to break dance, moonwalk, stick the ball beneath his jersey and pretend he is giving birth, whatever his heart desires.

No issue with flagging qb's, rb's, or wr...just let the big man celebrate because he may not get another chance.
