I watched Barbers Hill JV (or 10th grade?) play High Island once. Turned out to be a real good game. Likewise, a 5A JV (or 10th) could be a very good match for DV. Hope it all works out!

Hardin, Woodville, Anahuac, Splendora are off the 16th if I'm not mistaken
If Deweyville takes this week off Hull-Daisetta is open on the 30th and if High Island isn't able to play on the 30th, West Hardin will not have a game then either.

I hope all works out, and High Island finds a way to pull through. Those are some tough kids and always show a lot of grit and heart. I wish them the best.

None of those teams that you mentioned can play. It is against UIL rules to play 11 games in regular season. Deweyville would need to find a private school(UIL rules do not apply) or another public school that has only 9 games scheduled.

For this Friday, probably not.  Coach McDaniel indicated that he was working on a possibility for the 30th, which was the Pirate's original open date.

well I dont think it would be to smart to get a game on your original by week when that is the week before you start District Play  JMO

Why exactly isn't it smart to play before you begin district? Seems to me, a coach would want his team zoned in and ready to play. You cannot get that accomplished with one game in 3 weeks.  If Coach McDaniel can get a game on the 30th he should.

[/quote] Sorry but I think High Island should drop to 6 man ball. I think it is unfair to their playesr, to have to play against a team with that many more players, And I think it is unfair to the other teams to have to play a team that realy has little chance, or could even have to drop a game, like they did here.

oh but I have. Lay off the Kool-aid.You have no clue as to what you are talking about. not the old fart alumni team, but one with crafts and clarks and all them big sloppy off/deff lineman. That was what team was referring to.

Too late for that. They will have to wait till next year to make that change.

Problem is, still a lot of this season to play as an 11 man team.
