Good stuff, Matt.

This is what our local 4A districts could look like:

District 19-4A
Jasper 770
Silsbee 853
Livingston 1148
Huffman 924
Cleveland 886
Splendora 910

District 20-4A
Bmt. Ozen 1227
Barbers Hill 1181
LCM 1125
Lumberton 1063.5
PNG 1401
Vidor 1416

I like this.  Looks like 2 really competitive districts with the opportunity to play each other in pre district and also 5-A teams.

The 3A mockup here by Matt exposes the folly of sending 4 teams to the playoffs.  Of the 19 teams list here, only 3 would not go to the playoffs if the UIL were to use these same numbers and still insist on sending 4 teams from each district to the playoffs. In fact, if the UIL were to follow his numbers here, which I believe he said has 163 teams in 3A, then over 78% of the teams playing in 3A would qualify for the playoffs if the UIL sends 4 teams(128 of 163 teams)!

Here's statewide 3A

In all honesty who cares that more teams make the playoffs? The bad teams get weeded out in the first round anyway and it makes potential for more big games
[/quote]

When teams that aren't even .500 for the season and have a losing district record, which will be a certainty under a 4 team plan, they do not deserve to go.  There is a better way to weed bad teams out than by having them get their brains beat in during the first round...it is called not sending them in the first place.

    • What were the issues at Rusk?  SB, Admin, Culture, Pay?  Inquiring minds would like to know.
    • This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up From the article: “As a parent, then as a homeowner, if you have some equity in your home, then you can say to your child, you know, ‘don’t take out the loan,’” she said. “‘I’ll take out some of the equity to help you pay for tuition so that you don’t graduate with extraordinary student loan debt, and so that when you graduate, you can do your dream job.’” Essentially, Harris suggested that parents give their kids a leg up in the world by being the ones to take out a loan instead. Except theirs would have much higher stakes than just needing to be paid back — it could mean losing their home. 🤦‍♂️
    • Good luck and safe travels. Bring it home.
    • It has been frustrating seeing the lack of coverage from virtually EVERY media outlet.  We (Chester) are in the SE Texas coverage area.  There are no radio broadcast from our area, and Ch 12 is the only one that has even mentioned it.   I know I could have gotten donations to cover a SETX Sports broadcast.  Oh well, water under the bridge - we aren’t as big as Silsbee, WO-S or PN-G.
