*Barbers Hill @ Crosby Updates*/ Barbers Hill wins 8-6!!

Recommended Posts

I counted 7 errors, still you cannot make that many errors on routine plays and expect to win.  The kids need to remove their heads from where its not supposed to be.  Other than about 2 or 3 players nobody is hitting, so lets plug some JV players in the lineup.  Still don't see the logic in that.

Errors will kill any team, but I thought Crosby hit the ball hard.  BH's outfield made some plays on some good hits, if 2 or 3 of those hits find a hole they are doubles or triples then they win.  When BH lost to GCM, BH was hitting the ball well ,but GCM made great plays in the outfield and if just 2 of those hits get through it is a different outcome.  Crosby looks to finish 1 or 2 and people are wanting to make moves in the line-up and make changes on defense.  I thought BH fans were tough.

Crosby's refusal to play their best defensive players is there downfall. Quick playoff exit because of it.

Error's happen, it is part of the game, but if you are constantly having the same kids make errors that yes something needs to change.  I would also say some questionable batting changes, clean up hitter JV - sophomore 1 or 2 varsithy ab's looked like a jv batter - overwhelmed at the plate.  Pinch hitter - another underclassman with very few varsity ab's, looked like a jv batter.  CF with very low batting avg in district and LF not to far behind.  If this doesn't change they will struggle against a team that can score runs.

Barbers Hill has fared pretty well after moving up a kid from JV. If the JV kid is better, so be it.

if they have a playoff it will be either at Sterling  or Lee  and day hasn't been decided, but Rupp will not discuss it or consider flipping until after the game on Friday night.  BH can put in a jv pitcher and beat NF, but Rupp has his work cut out for him.

Not gonna need a coin flip.

Could happen.

Show up for your "win" and we'll see.

So what are the playoff possibilities for 19-4A?  Pats I know you got it all worked out.
[/quote]

GCM win, they're in.
GCM loss and BH loss: GCM is in.
GCM loss and BH win: GCM vs BH in tie-breaker playoff.

Crosby, Kingwood Park and Galena Park are playing for seeding.

Dayton, CE King and North Forest are getting ready for football.

Yes BH fighting for a play-off spot and with roster full of underclassman., proud to be doing so.  BH has a lot of talent just very young.  Let's see over the next two years how far they get, and compare to how far KWP gets.  All but 3 starters will be back next year and both top pitchers will be back.  Most will be back for the next two seasons.  Good thing KWP is getting out of the district, BH was getting scared. GCM has a lot coming back as well, Lee being added will make this a very tough district next year.  Lee has a lot of returners (Reed Sealy) is only a Jr.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
