How much patience will you eagles have with your new coach?  Are four or more district losses acceptable this coming season? (it's likely) How about beating dayton once a decade like crosby? It sounds like the guy will be able to install a good program, I'm curious to see how long he has before the complaints start rolling down the hill.

EXCELLENT QUESTION!
With a good group of athletes currently in 9th grade next year looks to be the weakest Eagle team in the next three seasons (the over all talent level of the athletes in 7th, 8th and 9th or better than what they have in 10th and 11th).
My guess....
The new coach better win a playoff game by the time the 9th graders graduate (I put the probability of that at over 50% ) or he will be shown the road.  Curious at what the Eagle football fans think of this.

What would make you think that he would have that long????? :-[ The GREAT NEWS is we have a secret weapon starting next season. Dayton fans will hate it but we had to get competitive. ;D ;D

Maybe Barbers Hill can win more than one football game against Dayton this year....
Last year from 7th to varsity Dayton was 10 wins and 1 loss against the mighty eagles.

For me Coach Gage gets a two year bye with no expectations ;D Year three and beyond Playoffs with wins!!!! I have no doubt that Coach Gage can get BH back on track!!! With the experiance that this man brings to BH football along with the current talent comming up and the constant growth in the school district I can't see how this will go wrong!!

It's not a question of our patience with the new coach, it's if the coach is going to have patience with his new boss.

BC's coach wanted to go to BH but he felt like there may not be enough athletes at BH to be successful.

You guys gotta give this post a rest.  You are wearing out those school-issued computers.  Wonder why so many of you are bashing the new coaches?  I'm sure that tech is loving you and sharing your thoughts.  Not too smart guys!  I think that's why Coach Stump stayed right here.  He knew he wouldn't get any support there just like your new guy isn't getting.

You should expound on that a little. Since you're implying something, you might as well say it.

The "secrets" that Dayton has is how to dominate our neighbors to the south in the one sport that really matters.

He may not even be here in 2 years, not with the three ring circus we have now. Unless the ringmaster we have now leaves first.

Yo Skeeter.....what 3-ring circus?  Coach Gage is pulling together his staff and those who don't fit in are being asked to leave.  Tell me how that isn't different that any Head Coach coming into a new program?  You must be one of the Price "lovers" and need to go post your thoughts on another thread.

We can speculate from now until the season starts about what will happen with the football program.  I just want Coach Gage to know the community supports him.  You folks from Dayton are talking smack now and it will continue through the season.  I have always supported you when you weren't playing BH because you are in our district and have a great football tradition.  I just wish you would give it a rest and see what Coach Gage brings to our program.

    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
    • See why I don't trust my Hogs?
    • Come on dude, don’t take anything away from the kids on the field. If you want to talk uncharacteristic, we made what 3 or 4 errors in game one. Y’all had 2 EARNED runs.  Defense is normally our strong suit. Your ace didn’t strike out a single one of our kids. Like I said also, you did not out hit us in game 1. Hell you barley out hit us in game 2. We had all the uncharacteristic walks. Josh pitched a hell of a game is what made that game what it was.
