1. Congrats Evadale...but, ya'll are killing Craig S.  He's ready for some softball! Go all the way!
 2. Good kid!  My oldest stepson played with/against him over the years.  Here's the link to the story: [Hidden Content] Glad he's back playing ball.  Crying wolf doesn't help anybody. We'll be praying Kendall is known for who he is and not who she said he was.
 3.

Anybody know when shedules and rankings will be released?
I would imagine most schools are waiting until after soccer starts next Monday to set the baseball gears in motion. The coaches convention is January 13th-15th. I would think things would heat up around the same time.
SO...GCM PATS/PEPPERMINT PATTY/WHO'S YOUR PATTY...Why you going to go around changing your name and your "call sign"?  Why hide?  We enjoy your input and your insight.  Just wonder why you keep changing names on here?
 4. Is Peppermint Patty the old GCM Pats guy?  Sounds like him.  Just wondering if he has a new pseudo name.  He's funny to read.
 5. Good luck.  You are proof that hard work pays off for young men and women...well, and your parental support is top-notch too:) Good luck Austin!
 6.
It should end up BC vs WOS for the two top spots; with everything below--up for grabs for the remaining teams.... I see BC as running away with the District toward the end of the year and again having a good run in the playoffs.
That would be cool if the girls' softball team and the boys' baseball team would roll again together and make some more statements.  Good luck boys.  See you when DD's not on the dirt.
 7. We went to the first Elite Showcase this year and it was great.  Heard the weather was causing havoc at this one.  Yes, I agree with Johnny, keep the coaches informed.  We even sent e-mails when we were in Colorado about DD's success and next thing you know...there was the coach at our next game.  So, e-mails buzzing their pockets is always good.

I have had this talk with alot of my die hard Nederland friends
PNG travels well and they do have spirit.....I give you that. A&M has that market cornered but what has that related to on the field.......not a whole lot in say 10 years. I was not born and raised in BH....my son goes there so I support them. As for PNG Envy........really........envious of what........fan support..........are you kidding me?
[IMG][Hidden Content]]
TWO DOGS...YOUR MOM IS GOING TO KILL YOU FOR POSTING THAT PICTURE OF YOUR SISTER  AND HER FRIENDS ....AND...YOUR MOTHER IN THE SIDE OF THE PHOTO!  I grew up with her and she's gonna get you good!
 9. BC needs to play flawless!!!  I'm always going to pull for them, so BC by 3:)
 10. Tigers9...Can't wait for my BC girls to show off their swagger against Silsbee.  What a great year it will be, full of surprises and lots of confidence! See you on the dirt!  Well, mud tonight, but we'll get some nice weather before it really counts. Good luck to your girls and best of luck to ALL girls in the GT, regardless of the teams they choose to play for or who those coaches might be or not be..even the arrogant ones and not-so-arrogant ones.  May they all go to the college of their dreams.
 11.
Swagger, confidence, arrogance, etc.  The only time these matters is when it becomes embarrassing.  There are way too many players that possess these "qualities" for no reason.  Work on your game and perform when it comes time.  If you don't, all of these mean absolutely nothing.  BTW, coaches don't get players scholarships; players do.
How true!!!
 12.
I'm saying BH by 8 points.
Wow...you were off on that deal!!!  Don't come east to gamble with us...you are not a good spread man at all!!!
 13.

What's the deal with the UIL probing into the allegations (reported by unhappy Bronco dads) that the Broncos were holding illegal mandatory summer workouts? We all know that "The Hill is for Real" but the REAL question is "Do the Broncos play by the Rules"?
Thats a rhetorical question, right?  ;) ;)  Everyone, including Daytonians know the answer to this question, rhetorical or not.
Its conditioning not practice ;)
Wow...you guys are so defensive now the cat's out of the bag on the UIL probe.  You know, this thread gets better and better.  Nothing good like this in BC.  I heard the probe part long ago, but I think they've decided to give them enough rope and one who gets too much rope usually hangs himself.  So, how many district games will the Broncos forfeit at this point?  Better come clean guys...the UIL mafia loves a good hangin' themselves.
 14. Coming off my long change and dang it if the guys at work were pumped up that THE HILL IS FOR REAL.
 15. I think there are sayings for everyone: The Hill Is For Real Dayton Leaves The Fans Waitin Bridge City Gives Us Plenty Nederland Has A Band Westbrook Deserves Another Look Lumberton Gets It Done Hamshire...Less Than Desire Orangefield Needs To Build Hardin-Jefferson Has A Gun Anahuac Never Lets The Flying Ducks Quack East Chambers Going Green For The Neighbors Silsbee Not A Lot To Se Port Neches Groves They Come To See Them In Droves
 16. It is important for coaches to not be so arrogant.  Everyone plays a part in their own special way.  The post seemed so self-serving, give-me-some-praise type post (arrogance got in the way, I guess) that people would naturally be on the defensive and for sure would question why the post was really ever started.  And, if Tigers9 didn't want some pot stirring, then why did he put the water on to boil?  Maybe he was bored we don't have HS softball to "really" talk about yet?  What drives college coaches away, well, except a JUCO or CC here or there, are those arrogant coaches who think they know so much and are supposed to be there to push their kids, instead, those college coaches sometimes get to hear more about how good the coach is instead of how good the players are that are on the field.  All of our GT area teams have had success at varying levels.  We just need to keep improving our kids so the college coaches know to come look at our kids' talents.  That will give us more than 4 scholarships a year. Long ago, the Nederland teams were ranked high on the totem pole of softball.  Those girls were coached well and loved the game.  They, in my opinion, set the tone for people to know the GT area girls were for real.  They moved on, from this team to that team, but their success was instilled early and they are having success at the collegiate level and some now at the Gold level. As someone said...all our teams have made sigificant contributions.  I doubt the college coaches are just there to see the GTS girls.  They were probably there for the girls who invited the coaches and got down to some business on the dirt and showed their stuff. Good luck to ALL girls and teams from the GT.  May you keep the fire burning that many ahead of you started.
 17. Doesn't sound like BH "PULLED OUT" a win as Baddog said.  Sounds like BH "HAD" the win with 28 unanswered points through 3 quarters.  They just didn't "GIVE UP" the win to Nederland and finished the Dogs off with their defense.  Sounds like it was a good game to watch...well, in the 4th quarter, any way.
 18.
Top Eight Teams 1) Hit-Away        2) Texas Bombers 3) Texas Travelers 4) Corpus Christi Panthers 5)Houston Storm  (Newsome) 6)Texas Fusion 7)Houston Lady Stros 8) FW Batbusters (Card) It went by the book first you go by runs allowes ,If you have a tie then you go by runs scored. sure would have liked to play the losers bracket out there were some teams in that bracket that were just getting warmed up.
How many games were played after they halted the tournament on Saturday?  Any games actually played in full on Sunday at all?  Did those 8 teams win their first two games then the runs allowed, etc go into account on deciding the teams who advanced to nationals?  Just wondering.  I know Mrs. George and Mr. May would be straight by the book for sure and I appreciate their efforts in all they do for ALL OF SETX softball.  Just wondered how it all came down. And, just for sake of discussion, if those 8 teams would have played out games on perfect weather days, properly, someone (or several of you) put in order how you think those teams would finish, without the runs scored, allowed, rain, etc.  Just curious what people think.
 19.
Games were stopped around 3. I believe they are meeting with the remaining 8 teams now to determine which and how 3 teams are chosen to qualify. Ought to be an interesting meeting!
So...you're saying HitAway and the others received bids by DEFAULT??? ...to GOLD NATIONALS??? That will be interesting to know for sure.  Someone let us in on what was decided by those in charge and how they came up with the winners.  Beaumont seems to always be wet in the most inopportune time for softball.
 20.

Now (13) I will have to say that I personally think that The College Street Complex is very nice! The city of Beaumont has been doing alot of work out there to improve it.Alot of damage was done the last 2 Hurricanes.I think that it is coming along nicely! There still is some work that needs to be done.I never heard any complaints about the fields when we were playing this weekend.I will say that I do not know anything about fields though. But,I can say this we live in Beaumont, and my daughter plays on Hit Away Gold.We go to Houston weekly for practice at Collins Park Fields, and I do not see anything any different over there.Just my opinion.
Are they still punishing Hit Away and putting them on field #5?   Now that they qualified they need to make them part of the SK mafia with the Hawks, Impact and Eclipse.  Let them get on the the bigtime fields 1 through 4.  MOMMA,  I remember your girl from when she won newcomer of the year in district, I always expected great things from her and wish her the best.  Good luck in Marietta, those people know how to throw a tourney.  Glad they got it away from the concrete jungle of OKC.
HitAway LEASES that field out right and owns the time spent on it.  You can read their sign from the parking lot.  They lease it to the SK people for the big tournaments there.  So, it's not a punishment, I guess, just control of sorts.

In their capacity as AD, they have the ability to hire/fire other head coaches within their program. My questions are: To what extent do they hold themselves accountable as a head coach? Should the positions be seperate? (Not taking school finances into consideration)
So...are you saying RUPP is on the bubble there now finishing 4th versus 1st ALREADY in that new school???  I know he had plenty of high expectations.  Is Coach Boyd ready to exercise his freedom and right over there?
Not at all. Is this what your Baytown Buddies are telling you?
I have a few buddies from Baytown who work at our facility here, but they haven't thought about that one, even though it might be good talk.  Was hoping you were giving us a little something to talk about;0

 23. It's hard to come home ONCE, let alone TWICE.  Not sure if she would enjoy that again!
 24. You would think they would clarify that before too many people see the post. After so many years in the classroom and working hard to get masters's, certification or whatever you have to have to become a coordinator, most at a 4A school would look for a break from the classroom to focus on their true responsibilities, COORDINATING.  I bet the reading specialists, diagnosticians and counselors don't teach too.  Not even in BC do we make them do that.  okay...just my 4 cents on the topic now.
