1. I'm surprised! You would NEVER think Barbers Hill would MAKE their female athletic coordinator teach too!  Shouldn't that be enough to warrant not being in the classroom?  If you oversee grades 7-12 athletics, how do you oversee them AND be in the classroom too and oversee girls basketball?  Something's a miss here it seems.  Oh well, my 2 cents from a lowly 3A looking in.
 2. Am I correct that it takes only 1 vote to be named honorable mention?  He (the prom kid's replacement) at least had the vote of one coach, probably his own, but still, he probably felt the kid was worthy!
 3.

Im shocked!!! I figured Ned would go far this yr. Guess the sticks were flat
Nice try Dogs...great season!  Congrats to Schlett on going 3 for 3 today.
Maybe they should hold off on those YELLOW chartered busses until they are at least out of the area.  Keeps things in perspective and they'll learn to appreciate the BIG games that need BIG BUSSES.  Baseball and softball both used them.
 4. I had said GCM would surprise the Dogs, which happened, at least in the first game.  But, Nederland has an incredibly talented team, so I say NED in 2.
 5.
Just imagine how crazy things would have gotten if the batter would have run to first on the dropped third strike to end the game and the runner at 3rd would have scored. Catcher never made a play on the ball and I can only assume the batter "conceded" the out by not running (if that is possible in high school). I can still see that ball sitting on the ground and thinking "Uh oh, this is not going to be good!"
His first base coach was going CRAZY trying to get him to run to first.
 6. YES...the catcher for GCM was a work horse last night.  Good job son!
 7. Whew...finally made it home.  Long drive from Baytown area.  Good game to watch.  Nederland can't be too confident though, GCM can have a lot of success.  That 4th place finish is deceiving.  If Rupp will keep his composure, his team will go further than many expected.  But, the captain of the ship needs to be more in control...this isn't college where you can throw tantrums and get away with that behavior.  AD Boyd surely isn't proud of that representation. I'm glad I made the trip even though I'm exhausted.
 8. I think I'm going to cross the ole Trinity tonight and see a good game with my brother-in-law and his GCM friends.  I guess I'll get to see what we are missing, as they put it, on the east side! I think we are pretty darn good at the games of baseball, football and softball. My relief will be there shortly.  Is it best to take North Main St. exit or the one by the mall there to get to the game?
 9. Hey GCM PATS, my Baytown buddies tell me .. IF he was half as good as you think he is, he'd be playing with the big boys in 5A instead of taking a step DOWN and playing with little league!!
 10. I really think a great name for the stadium would have been: MCGALLION FAMILY FOOTBALL ARENA Not only did the McGallion family put Silsbee on the map, but they have continued to provide a positive football atmosphere for the entire state of Texas, with their high level of play and their high level of coaching expertise.

 12. Check out this link to see every aspect of the stadium.  It's impressive and we are a bit jealous here in SETX. ]
 13.
Congrats to HF for getting a great, honest, successful, hard working, friendly, strong, and CHRISTIAN  coach.  He will turn that program around!!!  The athletes will also learn more than they will ever know from this man.  I know he has taught me much about life. (Class of 2007)  To me it seems like he is going back to REAL football, where the kids will work hard to be successful.  And they don't have the attitude as some BH kids do. Where some of them think all they have to do is show up "or have the last name Poole or May."  I really do miss those 3A days sometimes. BH 89 it is time for you to be quite.  You got what you wanted so go and start spying the new BH AD.  I doubt you have a demanding job because you have some much time to bash coaches.  "By the way you put to much salt on my fries last time I was at McDonald's."  I am sure there is going to be something you don't like about him.  And another thing you say real football is played west of the Trinity River hmmm.... I did not realize Trinity River went around WOS. axe em jacks
WOW...YOU just made sure you didn't get a recommendation or future job yourself at BH bashing the superintendent and his friends.  My sister said you were way out there and I should look for your posts.  Not sure with that stuff and revealing who you are would help you get a job at BC either and we are hiring! When you grow up some, you'll realize you don't burn any bridges in life, no matter what the bridge looks like!
 14. Wow...I can't believe he wouldn't have been in their Top 3 originally.  I guess time will tell where the other 3 will end up.  Malone, you would have been GREAT for HF. BH East Longhorns...kind of sounds good! I guess there will probably be a few more vacancies now at Barber's Hill.  Or, maybe at HF?
 15.

West Texas jobs go to West Texas boys
You're right!  And, you have to be West Texas bred to endure West Texas parents.  They are just darn right DIFFERENT up there!  I guess their noses have to be that high to know when the dirt is about to fly. Well...you know...no one is as perfect as southeast Texans, right????
I coached in west Texas for over ten years. I NEVER had one single problem with a parent...........and then I came back to SE TExas..............sigh
You didn't think they were a bit uppity?  Good people and good parents, just a bit uppity IMO.  I understand what you mean about my counterparts here in SETX.  We are a difficult bunch:)
 16.
Who are the top 3 and how do you know that any one of them will not take the job.  If nobody knows who they are then how can you say they won't take the job.  That makes no sense what so ever.
I guess some know more than us, especially the three.  During the weekend before the presentation to the board, they have to know if all of the top 3 will accept.  They start with #1, which the supt. hopes the board will select too, then if not, #2, then #3.  Just heard grumblings this morning that they are moving to #4 after getting a first clear indication the 3 would accept, but something changed their mind from Thursday til today.  Whoever they choose, my stance is still the same...I hope it is someone who cares for the kids at HF.  They deserve only the best. I guess we'll all see real soon.
 17. The UCONN girls would just calmly take shots, hit most of them and win the game, especially on the free throw line.  The Yates boys would get too frustrated by being down at some point in the game, lose their composure, start to foul, get into foul trouble then freak out.  UCONN would defend them nicely because they know how to play defense.  It would be a close game, but in the end, class, composure and SOUND, FUNDAMENTAL basketball would prevail.
 18.
Well there were definately more than 3 qualified coaches for the position. I guess if the top three might be taking a job elsewhere, then HF isn't staying in house.
They need someone who cares about the kids at HF for sure!  Long ago, people who wanted to coach in a community toured the community, talked to realtors, and couldn't wait to make that community their home.  Nowadays, they just say, hey, if I get that head coaching job/AD job then that will look good on my resume or help me finish out my retirement.  Good luck to the hiring team and good luck to the HF community who deserve only the best!
 19.
Who are the top 3?
Not sure, just heard some grumblings this morning about whoever their top 3 are might take other positions elsewhere in Texas.  Busy weekend for the board I guess.  Maybe they'll have a golden egg waiting in the wings after all that will be great for that program and who will really WANT to be at Hamshire-Fannett.
 20. Heard the top 3 might not even accept the position.  Wonder who number 4 is?  See...the yellow ribbon isn't always bad!
 21. OU sucks so much that when there is a tornado warning they don't even worry because their own personal suction is so strong they won't even budge!
