2006 Texarkana Liberty-Eylau 12-3 DI State Champs
2006 Libery Hill 13-2 DII State Champs
2004 Ailene Wylie 12-3 DI State Champs
2003 Atlanta 12-4 DII State Champs
2002 Bandera 13-3 DII State Champs
2001 Commerce 14-2 DII State Champs
2000 LaGrange 14-2 DII State Champs

Half of the state title winners since 2000 have had 2 losses or more. Just because we have dropped a couple of close games doesn't mean that we don't have a shot at the ultimate goal!!!

The largest team from each district to qualify for the playoffs go DI, the other 2 go DII. There is a DI champ and a DII champ. The two do not play each other.

so if silsbee,wos,and bc make the playoffs that would put silsbee d1 and both wos and bc d2?

This game helped both teams, especially BC if they happen to make it to the playoffs. BC was in the ballgame the whole game, which tells me if they happen to make it, the competition will be similar to WOS in the early rounds.

WOS was helped by the tougher district this year, which will get them acclimated to a 3rd round opponent.

The Stangs have some solid players as does BC. I look at things baseball wise, no knock on the Cardinals but I only seen 3 or 4 players of BC starting for WOS.

I meant no disrespect to the playoffs teams from 21 3a. Who ever they may be. Every year  the ultimate for football teams should be a state championship. I just think this year the goal is a little more lofty. Does not mean it won't happen. I would love nothing more than to see a southeast Texas team bring home the gold. Just my observation.

Have not seen WOS yet or BC but did see Silsbee. While Silsbee was impressive, it was against Orangefield. Silsbee was like a pinball machine, they bounced off of would be Orangefield tacklers. While I do think Silsbee is smaller than in the past but they are quicker which is to their advantage. Johnson is an athlete and deserves the praise he gets. But a solid and discipline team will shut the spread down. Yes 21 3a is more competitive than years past. But is that a good thing are bad? It is good for the smaller schools because it gives them hope. Not sure what it means for the larger schools.

This is a message board for opinions right? Well that is mine. Like it or not I really don't care. I don't pretend to be right all the time. Actually I hope I am wrong this time.

Hate to agree with you, but I havent seen any thing very impressive in our district so far. Hope im wrong also, but 3rd round seems pushing it right now.

Didn't make myself clear. From what I saw, if you put both teams together, 3 or 4 BC kids would make WOS's starting lineup. It was a great effort by the Cards to stay as close to the Stangs imo.

im just curious about this one...

why is it allowed for WOS to have their flag runner to run straight to the middle of the field and wave their flag for about 5 minutes and to just stand there until the teams are ready to come onto the field?

to me this is very disrespectful

It's all part of HS Football in Texas...Big Flag, and Big Football games. No disrespect to BC, it's just something WO-S has done for years now.
