Just in case, i would call a rocket scientist to go over these issues of direction.

dawgfan09 Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 I heard the same thing about them saying it was too late to evacuate Galveston, but my sister just left and had no wait on the ferry. So, it is still possible for them to get off the island tonight.

Bobcatfan4life Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Rita was a Cat 3 with 120 MPH winds at landfall and we all know what that storm did. They are predicting Ike to be a Cat 3 or 4 at landfall with 120-140 MPH winds.

Thing is when it's starts moving WNW somewhere down the line a turn north will occur. The farther north it goes before going back W/NW the closer to us.

From my understanding calling the mandatory makes them responsible for the 211, so they are not calling it.
