In the bottom of the 4th the Ganders scored two unearned runs to move ahead 4 to 2.

The Bruins cut the deficit in half in the top of the 5th inning. With two outs, Lycan walked. He scored when Chris Muellner's double fell near the left field foul line and skipped past the diving Lee left fielder.

Down 4 to 3 entering the 7th, the Bruins staged a rally. Davidson led off the inning with a walk. Davidson stole second base. Matt Parker placed a perfect sacrifice bunt which advanced Davidson to third with one out. Bruin lead off hitter Matt Serna stepped to the plate. Serna blasted Lee pitcher Cameron Powers' fast ball to deep left center field for a triple which plated Davidson and tied the game at 4 to 4. With Serna on third and two outs, Muellner walked. With Will Partain at the plate, Muellner started for second and in a designed play drew a throw and created a run down. In the run down, the Ganders mishandled the throw which allowed Serna to score the Bruins' 5th run with Muellner reaching second. Partain then crushed Powers' fast ball to the 360' sign in right center field for a double, which enabled Muellner to score. Huff then drove in Partain with a single to center field.

The Ganders threatened in the bottom of the 7th. A walk and double resulted in a Gander run. However, Swindle entered the game and secured the last three outs.

The Bruins' offense was paced by Matt Serna, who was 2 for 4 with his triple. Will Partain, David Falgout, and Chris Muellner each had a double. Lycan, Huff, and Davidson each had singles.

Several defensive web gems were turned in by the Bruins. Serna made an over the shoulder running catch in deep left center field. Falgout also made a fine catch racing toward the center field fence to spear a long drive. Right fielder, Chris Muellner made a strong throw to shortstop Thad Lycan who relayed the throw to Davidson at third base to nab the Lee runner for the last out of the 5th inning. Muellner also made a nice running catch of a short pop near the right field foul line to record the first out of the 7th inning. Bruin catcher Aaron Morgan turned in a solid game behind the plate blocking several breaking pitches in the dirt to keep runners from advancing. Lycan, Huff, and Partain combined for a flashy 6-4-3 double play to stop the Ganders in the 5th inning. While prone on his belly to reach a long throw from Lycan, Partain managed  to keep a toenail on the first base bag to record the third out to end the 6th inning.

With their 6 and 4 record in District 21 5A, the Bruins are in third place. On Tuesday, the Bruins return to Baytown to play the second place Sterling Rangers.
