KFDM COOP Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 Lamar Can't Contain UTA In 15-4 Loss Rubber game on Sunday at 1 p.m. March 15, 2008 ARLINGTON, Texas - Texas-Arlington scored 12 runs in the first three innings to defeat Lamar 15-4 at Clay Gould Ballpark Saturday. Lamar moved to 10-7 overall and 1-1 in Southland Conference play, while starter Brian Sisk (3-1) suffered his first loss of the season after allowing 11 runs in 2.0 innings. Andy Sauter (1-1) threw a complete-game and struck out five while allowing four runs on six hits for UTA (7-11, 1-1 SLC). Trailing 5-0 after two innings, Lamar scored three runs on three hits in the third to make it 5-3. Tyler Link led off with his second home run of the season. Following a walk to Anthony Moore and a double to left-center by Brian Taylor, Brent Harris drove in both runners with a single to left. UTA came back with seven runs in the bottom half of the inning and benefitted from a pair of Lamar miscues to go along with five hits. Taylor went 2-for-3 on the day to record his second multi-hit game of the year, while Steven Tucker saw his 10-game hit streak come to a close with an 0-for-3 game. Keith Towne slammed his first home run of the season with a pinch-hit shot to centerfield in the sixth. The teams will conclude their series with a rubber-game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
