Final stats

                                 PAM                                BU

Rush                       41/242 yards                  33/-46 yards

Pass                      3-11, 46 yds                     9-18, 60 yds

Total                       52/288 yards                  51/14 yards

FD                                18                                   5   (none in 2nd half)

Penalties                   2/10 yds                         7/70 yds

My thoughts:

First with Memorial. This was my first time seeing this year. It's kind of hard to gauge just how good a team is when the opponent plays as bad as United. But, some of that bad play was due to the Titans. Memorial defense is very good. Very fast and attacks the ball well. They can bring the pressure when it's needed. Only draw back I saw was in that one offensive drive by BU that resulted in their only score. United QB picked them apart through the air on that drive (was 4-5, 52 yards on that drive, then got hurt). Titan D played a little on their heels in that drive. Outside of that drive, Memorial defense controlled the game. On offense, the run game was very good. Lot's of open lanes to run through. Oline did a fantastic job. Pass game was not that great but wasn't necessarily needed last night. I think that looks to be the weakest part of the offense and basically the team. Memorial will need some sort of a descent pass game in the playoffs. 30 of the 46 passing yards came on the TD pass in the 4th Q by the backup. He definitely looked to be the better passer. Like I stated, very tough to gauge just how good a team Memorial is off this game.

As for United, well....... 7 turnovers in 1st half!!! I don't think I have ever seen a game where one team had that many turnovers in a half. Good news is BU didn't turn it over at all in 2nd half. They just went 3 and out on all 4 possessions. United fought bad snaps the whole game. Had 8 in all. Resulted in big losses, safeties and a defensive TD. (Memorial defense had 12 points total last night). Losing Bronson to injury pretty much sealed the deal for United but they weren't beating this Titan team with him. United has zero run game to keep defenses from bringing pressure off the edges. United got beat upfront all night. It was truly an offensive disaster for BU last night. Outside of that one drive where they scored (gained 56 yards of offense on 6 plays on that drive) United had a total of 45 plays for a -42 yards. SMH BU defense actually did quite well last night. They defended the pass very well and stopped Memorial on three 4th down tries. One would think a 56-6 score that the winning team would have more than 288 yards of offense but that wasn't the case. Memorial feasted off the BU turnovers and short fields. I thought United defense did all they could to help keep them in the game (Titans had 3 turnovers as well).

In the end, this game was really more about the bad play of United than the good play of Memorial.
