Personally, I think he doesn’t want to hurt the citizens of Iran.  He may, though, have to do something drastic like Truman did when Japan wouldn’t give up.  You are seeing similarities between Iran and Japan about not giving up.  But their reasons are different.  As far as Trump is concerned, what does drastic look like?!  If he decides the citizens don’t matter he could easily flatten Iran.

Yes, when I said lives lost, I should have said both sides. The way these back fighting Muslims hide in schools and hospitals, it would be very difficult to remove them without civilian casualties. I don’t think he will pull a Truman.

Surely you don’t believe Trump held back because of Iran citizens? Oldawg said it best when he said you don’t put your foot on the enemy’s neck and then let up. Go on national TV every other day and say we have a deal, we’re close to a deal, we had to give them love taps but the ceasefire still stands, we will hit them so hard, etc.

Trump pulled back because the next stage involved taking out bridges and power grids, which would definitely affect the Iranian people. If Trump hits them tomorrow, someone will cry about it.

I think Trump has sympathy for the Iranian people.  They aren’t the radicals the leaders are.  We should be somehow arming these citizens.  Maybe through the Israelis they are being armed.  The people need to take over.

Those who have been in armed conflict are usually the last ones to want to start one. But, when the decision is made, and the ‘trigger is pulled’, anything less than all out effort gets more of ‘our people’ dead.

Avoid civilian casualties where possible. If not possible, and legitimate targets are keyed, it is a sad byproduct of conflict.

If you don’t have the stomach for it, don’t start the conflict.

I can guarantee the IRGC wouldn’t blink twice if they had the capability to set off a dirty bomb in a civilian area in the U.S.

THAT’s who we’re dealing with. The version of beliefs they hold actually desires the end of Israel and the Big Satan. Not just the military. The entire civilian population. They don’t care. They believe it will usher in the return of their prophet. Others are more secular, and just know if they lose power, they’ll be killed.

I’m not joking when I say these folks are bat sh t crazy. If you don’t eliminate them, they’ll pull another cockroach in 2-3 years.

Better to deal with it now than take a chance on the next Administration being Gavin & AOC, or someone similar.

There is nothing conservative about spending 2 trillion dollars a year more than you take in, there’s nothing conservative about allowing 500,000 Chinese students into our country because you don’t want to offend Xi. There’s nothing conservative about not addressing Xi about allowing Covid into our country and destroying hundreds of thousands of businesses and millions of deaths & shutting down a 36 trillion dollar economy. I could go on but I’ll stop there.

You mean like China did with Covid to us, it wasn’t a bomb but it had the same affect just about. You seem to have totally forgot about that, oh that’s right because Trump says so.

The point I’m making is that no matter what Trump does, some crybaby will voice their disapproval. Heck, when Trump snatched Maduro, there were those who sided with Maduro. They even had paid protests. Too many anti-Americans in this country. I think there needs to be a regime change too, but it will require boots on the ground. 
With the influx of illegals under Biden, I’m really surprised we haven’t been hit with a dirty bomb.

Allies? The U.S. was refused air space for missions and Spain and Italy would not allow us to use our own bases. Allies? Only when Hitler was conquering Europe did they call the USA their ally. Why have strategically located military bases if we can’t use them? France and the Uk helped with Iraq, now we can’t use their air space. Islam?

I remember when he was criticized for calling out NATO countries for not paying for NATA and letting the USA cover most of the cost........then look what happened.....people are paying as they should

Yes, if we can’t depend on our NATO allies help then what good is it?  Don’t we pay for 2/3rds of NATO’s budget?  That should drop immediately!

There are always those who are gonna protest anything and everything. Some do it just to sew chaos. Others are just foolish and uninformed. Sometimes, they have a legitimate beef. Just depends.

He can't worry about protests now. We're in it.

He needs to have drones flying 24/7. Any missile launcher seen needs to be eliminated immediately. Any boat on the water needs to be sunk. I'd even think very seriously about having B-52's drop loads of bunker busters along the Iranian coastline bunkers. If you can't eliminate the tunnel systems...bury them.

Figure out their crypto system & shut it down!

He needs to get the negotiating leverage back that's been lost. He's on a clock--even though he says he's not.

He's actually being too patient and defensive.

It amazes me that our government truly believes that Iran will honor any agreement, they haven’t for 47 years. Maybe that’s why no other president has tried to force a regime change. 
 

Can’t believe Trump is about to agree to another 60 day ceasefire. He’s getting played imo. What a dumpster fire!

Meanwhile prices at the pump are starting to trickle down to goods ( Food) and services. Smh

I agree with you. That exit ramp is getting smaller and smaller and more and more embarrassing for him. His ego want allow him to admit he bit off more than he can chew!

Iran is not the least bit intimidated by him.
