I read that the Marines are being sent to secure the oil shipping facilities on Kargh Island. Because that’s the end goal of all of this, much like Venezuela. Trump wants their oil. The only question is whether or not the world is going to let us keep seizing the resources of other nations.

I can see this.  This would be to make sure the devils in iran don't destroy this infrastructure.
