This wasn't an issue when I worked for the DOJ. It is supposed to be nonpartisan. Government jobs in the federal public service are designed to be non-partisan, serving the government of the day with loyalty and neutrality regardless of political stripe. Staffing is based on merit, ensuring a neutral, competent workforce. While employees retain rights to engage in political activities (like voting or attending rallies), they must maintain impartiality and avoid conflicts of interest, especially in high-visibility roles.
