i thought hj would take this easy silsbee must have it back together

A very good ball game.  H-J, as the expression goes, COULD NOT BUY a basket in the second quarter.  End of one:  H-J 24 / Sil 13.  End of two:  H-J 28 / Sil 32.  Hawks had only 4 points in the second quarter and two of those were free throws.  End of three:  H-J 45 / Sil 53.  Final:  H-J 68 / Sil 73.  I had Ang Green with 34 points and a ton of rebounds.  Katelyn Bernsen had 23 for the Hawks along with double digit steals and 7 or 8 assists.  Latricia Moore had 18 for the Hawks before fouling out with about two and a half minutes to play.  Silsbee won on their home court.

Same game played at Hardin-Jefferson - the Hawks would have won.  tigersvoice

Final..Angie Green 32 points

Angie Green is a future Lamar Cardinals basketball player. I read a article over the summer about her on Texas Hoops. Looks like Coach Tidwell landed another star. Congratulations to Silsbee on the W.

First I want to say what a player Ang Green is. She did a terrific job hitting 3's from NBA range and Chelsey Tyler also hit some big shots. As poorly as I beleive HJ played they made a run that was Highlight material if they could have pulled it out. I hope our defense shows up for the next game we play, not that it was horrible but, it was well below what our girls usually play. Now well see how we react to a loss that we can't say they were 4a or 5a. Hopfully it a good loss that modivates us to the next level.

First of all, Congrats Lady Tigers coaching staff and players! You made us Silsbee faithful really proud. As has been mentioned, Ang was awesome but so were Chelsey Tyler and Brittney Henry. You guys each stepped it up and were leaders for an awesome TEAM! When you were down by so much at the end of the first quarter but fought back with such a strong second quarter and then held off HJ's rally at the end, it brought back memories of last year's District championship season. Secondly, HJ is still an awesome team too. I know they will bounce back. Honestly I hated to see either team lose. I definitely got my money's worth. This district is tough! Go Lady Tigers!

    • From the article:   "In some ways, the dispute over the 2000 presidential election will never end. Witness Vice President Biden's comments Wednesday about predecessor Al Gore. "This man was elected president of the United States of America," Biden said at a fundraiser that Gore also attended. "No, no, no. He was elected president of the United States of America." WOW!!  And no one was indicted for questioning the results an this election.  Amazing how times have changed.   This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up @Big girl  @UT alum  @CardinalBacker  @Boyz N Da Hood         What say you?!
    • What you are failing to realize is this….. you act as if the only reason this person committed this heinous crime is because of bump stocks. My realization is that he would have done it anyway. Bump stocks did not create this crime, he did. You need to learn where that line really is.
    • If you want bump stocks banned, you are going to need Congress.
    • This is my point, made initially.   We, as gun owners, should demand accountability from those who manufacture and sell these things.  But instead we argue "but it's our RIGHT to own them," thereby insuring that another mass killing happens in the future.  At which point in time we'll wring our hands, offer thoughts and prayers, say how it's not a gun that kills, but rather a hard heart that kills.     Gun manufacturers and sellers don't mind threats from people who were never going to buy from them anyways.  If actual gun owners were to threaten a boycott of businesses that produce/sell bump stocks, they'd disappear from the market.  But instead we take the losing side of an argument on philosophical grounds.   We don't need the feds with more regulations or congress to pass new legislation... we, as consumers control the market.  What's available, etc.   WE, as the actual customers of weapons should be using our voices to determine what is produced/sold by the gun industry.
    • This is insane. What a waste of a football career for this young man. A sophomore and has already run away from two situations where he could compete for the job. Unfortunate, because I heard they were high on him in BH, but it's unreasonable to think a school like BH would designate a Sophomore as their starter in the Spring of his Freshman year. Pitiful.
