OlDawg Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago PN-G Fans (Or others from out of area coming to the game)- Most of the restaurants are west of downtown--and the stadium--since the stadium is only a couple hundred yards from the bayfront. I usually recommend people coming early in the day if they can and make an afternoon & evening of it. That way you avoid the traffic on 10 (even 73 was getting bad before we retired) 146, and the Fred Hartmann Bridge. Come early and spend a few hours at the San Jacinto Monument and help support it. (Remember, La Porte is where Texas won Independence from Mexico.) It, and the Monument Inn listed below are only about 15-20 minutes from the stadium, and make for a great few hour trip. The museum is really fun if you enjoy history as a proud Texan. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up After that, eat at The Monument Inn. If a southern seafood fan, it's hard to beat. Eat a late lunch there, then you'll be ready for the game with plenty of time to park, etc. You can always get another snack at the game and help us pay for that sucker! lol This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Other places to eat that we recommend besides all the normal chain fast food places: Southern Komfort Kitchen - This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up El Ranchero Mexican Restaurant: (Tommy Taco Dinner is excellent. Get them 'all the way'.) - This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up King's BBQ (Excellent stuffed Spud) This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Chili's This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up There's also a Walk-On's Sports Bar & Bistreaux if that's your preference. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up There are other good places that I haven't mentioned. These are just a few. Of course, there's always the normal Whataburger, Popeye's, McD's, Burger King, Wingstop. Denny's, Hartz Chicken, DQ, Kentucky Fired Chicken, Waffle House, Subway, Taco Bell, etc. Darth Texas 1 Quote

I’m waiting to see how Joseph run blitzes, when he decides to stack the box with 8, or if he just stacks from the very beginning. He’s not going to want LP burning all the clock, so I imagine PN-G would take ball if they win the toss. I am anticipating quick outs, and some delays with some of Henry up the gut sprinkled in for the first scripted plays. Try to get Bailey comfortable, and see how much time the PN-G OL is gonna’ be able to give him. LP will be LP. They won’t change much. They figure that as long as they execute, they don’t worry too much about what the opponent is doing. They’re just as happy with 3 four yard plays consistently as they are a sixty yard play. Maybe more so. PN-G will need to rely on Bailey more this year. So, I imagine they want to work on that aspect of their game. They also will get a good feel for their run D. For La Porte, it’s all about repetition & execution on O. Clean play. On D, they need to shore up their tackling and edge contain. Keep getting the pressure to help the secondary. It has actually been better than I expected for a younger group. But, it could always use improvement. The new DC will have another solid opponent to help him figure out his D talent since he didn’t come onboard until June. This game will be good for both before district play. LHJJ05 1 Quote
