In fact I frequently see buses dropping off or picking up in the Market Basket parking lot. And there are pick up and drop off signs under the Intercoastal bridge turnaround. So, I wonder, without searching, what areas of PA are included in the SP school district. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Quote

At one time they ran buses every school day to the Intercoastal Canal Bridge on Hwy. 87 that separates Port Arthur proper and SP in order to help parents get their children to class. So parents would drop their kids off under the bridge and SP would pick them up and drive to the schools about 10 miles away. In the afternoon they would reverse the procedure. I am sure that it was a lot more attractive to get parents to enroll their kids to go to school in SP by saving the parents about 30 minutes of travel time in the morning and 30 minutes to travel time in the evening. That was as far as SP went was to the bridge when I was still working. Now they may have enough students living in a single area (like Port Acres) for them to send a bus into that area to pick up students. 1970 1 Quote
