Hopefully injections in my neck will fix me up, and my Doc told me Fondren is where he recommends. I said, well that's a far drive, you recommend anyone local. Without hesitation he said no, it's your neck....... lol

The voters that voted for Gallrein didn’t care that he wanted to bring back the draft. They didn’t care he was a rubber stamp for Trump. The majority of Gallrein’s voters were white, 56+, and fairly well off financially. Everyone under 56 went big for Massie. With the demographics in KY-4, 56 and unders outnumber those 56 and above. That tells me the Boomers turned out to vote, and the younger crowd didn’t.

Incidentally, other articles point out that older folks are the only group that still believes the U.S. should always aid, support, and believe Israel unconditionally.

Younger folks are a little more skeptical.

All of us saw what happened in J6 and are well aware that serious crimes were committed. The fact that Trump pardoned everyone, including those who’d already been convicted, and even those who admitted their crimes in plea deals was just wrong to any decent, law-abiding person. The idea that the guys who smeared their own human feces on the walls of Capitol offices during their attempt to overturn the results of the election are somehow entitled riches from the American taxpayer is an idea that no reasonable person will agree with.  Trump and his followers might have finally blown past their last exit with a lot of former Republican voters.

Many older folks (not the only ones, but more susceptible) are easily fooled by AI. AIPAC aligned ads falsely portrayed Massie in numerous ways. They didn’t vote for Gallrein because they knew what he stood for because they never even heard him debate or campaign. He was an unknown who said he would do whatever Trump wanted, and reinstate the draft.

Yes… if it were done BEFORE those six justices re-litigated and then eviscerated the Voting Rights Act. Immediately followed by an off-cycle redistricting which is almost unheard of. 
 

Americans just voted a year and a half ago and selected their representation. If the same election were held today, you’d have republicans winning 25+ more seats by most estimations… without a single person changing their vote.  That’s not a democracy, it’s cheating to steal elections. And it’s not some made-up fairy tale about election fraud that is believed with nary a shred of truth… this one is actually happening, and it’s happening before our eyes.  And it will lead to bloodshed, in my opinion.

This is how the law was interpreted and its implementation changed up over 60 years from 1965 to 2025. 
 

It’s been recognized since Reconstruction that given the opportunity, white racists would disenfranchise minorities to dilute voting power and therefore eliminate their voice in Congress. The Voting Rights Act was passed to eliminate the practice of redistricting to silence minorities. That was the law of the land until Trump’s puppets on the Supreme Court undid 60 years of progress with one Jim Crow era decision last month. 
 

Stop and think about it.  Those “gerrymandered” maps that were just thrown out across all of the Southern States? You know, the changes that the racists keep celebrating? “Who-hoo!!! South Carolina has 7 white reps now! There’s no more of THEM!”  Those maps were all drawn by Republican legislatures because it was the right thing to do.  At least is was the right thing to do a couple of month ago. It’s also interesting to point out that there is will no longer a single black Republican in Congress after this term either.  
 

There have been 7,500 immigrants allowed into the US this year, and another 10,000 scheduled for the remainder of the fiscal year.  All but three (3) were white people from South Africa.  There’s no word as to the race of those three immigrants. But I’d bet they were white, too.

Bottom line: Trump is afraid and has tried everything to either eliminate midterms, start a war, or change the rules 7 months before the election. He miscalculated and ended up turning against the people he needed to push his agenda.

You can call it whatever you want… the 15th and 19th Amendments were passed by Congress, signed by the president, and ratified by the States…. But the Voting Rights Act was enacted in 1965 to enforce those previous Amendments because the white racists in the South were doing the same thing that the white racists in the South are doing today. It’s just textbook Jim Crow Era racism.

This type of thing happens every ten years when the Census comes out. Politicians scramble to carve out districts that give the ruling party the best chance of hanging on to power.  But we’ve had the framework of the Voting Rights Act to keep the racists in check. 
 

There are two distinct differences this time. First, we’re halfway between census years… but Trump ordered “his” states to redistrict to eliminate districts that were historically Democratically held. The second is that the Supreme Court which has been stacked by ideologues from both sides, but now decisively split with a 6-3 neo-con majority, ruled that racism is in fact, legal again.  The guardrails were removed and the racists are doing what racists do… putting “them” back in “their places.”  
 

To celebrate now is the same as celebrating when George Wallace stood up against the National Guard during the integration at the University of Alabama.
