Thought we were talking about district not playoffs? Keep to the subject.

Then Johnson led a team that lost most of its district games and finished in fifth place out of eight - ahead of only OF, HJ and winless BC. I'm not saying that DQs him from contention, but it certainly makes you look like a jackass when you dog someone whose team went 11-2.

Is this a "well he's a senior so he should get it pick." Here are some end of district stats I have found.

Johnson   season pass 1665 yds  17 td  rush 624 yds  9 td

district  pass 1211 yds  13 td  rush 394 yds  7 td   total  2289 yds  26 td

Rhodes    season rush  1529 yds  19 td  rec. 259 yds  5 td

district rush   1117 yds  14 td  rec. 220 yds  5 td   total  1788 yds  24 td

Garrett    season rush   1021 yds  18 td  rec  152 yds  2 td

district rush   894  yds  18 td  rec  118 yds  2 td   total  1173 yds  20 td

20 plus TD for all three players, not bad. All three played on defense as well. By having over 500 more total yards and two more TD, Silsbee Johnson has had a better offensive year. Now, remember all of them played defense, so Rhodes would have to have a super year on defense. I just don't think he had a good enough year on defense, are returning punt and kickoffs. Don't get me wrong, I am not bad mouthing any player, never would I do that. But we can post till our fingers turn blue, it's all in the coaches hands. Me, well I'll have to go with Johnson. He's just a Soph.

D.  Bailey

Passing  937 yds  13 td      rush  1152 yrds  18 tds  Total 2089  32 TDs

not bad for a soph. If my stats are right.

St4life,  We overlooked China Springs, but at least we made another run into the playoffs which is something yall didn't do. If I aint mistaken, Hampshire Fannett beat yall with the same exact score since you wanna talk about butt-kickin. Kirbyville will be strong next year with Hazelwood and Stephon Jackson calling the shots and Jackson just as quick as Bailey from Jasper.

These stats come from chrom.com, that the coaches turn in.

Bailey Jasper/QB pass 599 yds. 9 tds.  rush 826 yds. 12 tds.  rec. 44 yds. 0 tds. These are district numbers.

Bailey really did not come to starting QB till mid way through the season. These are good numbers, Brooks has found a gem in this young player. Not playing all year at the same position will hurt him.

You can get half of the New England Patriots starters we wouldn't care. Your Tigers come to our house next year and you already know what to expect. Kirbyville will be young in several spots , but talent keeps flowing down here.

I thought ya'll where moving down to 2A, where ya'll will win state. lol. It don't matter where we play ya'll, besides we haven't lost at ya'll place yet.  ;D

If we do move down to 2A I hope we are still scheduled to play them Silsbee Tigers. Oh yea, before you post something about us dropping down to win state, learn how to make it past the first round or even make the playoffs. Kirbyville will be very dominate next year and you can take that to the bank!!

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
