First statues, now birds

They are renaming birds whose name can be linked to the confederacy.  Because when I see a Hammond Fly catcher I am constantly reminded about:

Hammond’s flycatcher

Named after former U.S. Surgeon General William Alexander Hammond, who held deeply racist views about Black people and Native Americans.

I really take offense to “bald eagle” (🦅), and prefer follically challenged.  Hey, the past was bad (slavery, Indian treatment, and on and on), but where does this end?  It’s a freakin’ bird - no one knows what it is and no one cares what the name is.  Read for yourself and enjoy.
