Always give a respectful answer.  You should say, not a chance.  We’re going to take em behind the woodshed and get ready for round 2!

Most of the time I dont think that is necessary. We have won 26 consecutive 1st round playoff games. We are playing at home against a good 4th place playoff team. They have earned my respect.

Centennial played very well against Lake Belton. It will be interesting to see how that carries over against a much better opponent! To be honest I'd rather play Tascosa than Centennial again. Thats why I wasnt sad Denton Ryan lost to Red Oak. I like our district mates but its all about us now. But back to your post, I have done zero research on PSJA or Miller. I just think that Region comes down to them and CC Vets/Vela. May the best team win and they will have a legit chance against R3 this year imo.

Tep been raving about Vela, PSJA North and CC Miller all year. I know CC Miller has a QB that has that "it factor".

Yes

I think the moment was too big for them. I still think they have a solid team but they could not stack positive plays together. When you find some plays that work keep going to them. I think the QB was seeing ghost. He didnt trust his O-line and stand in the pocket. He would bail early and most of the time he would scramble it did not turn out good for him. He had -52 yards rushing or something like that and also threw a pick when he felt under pressure. They had the right idea by controlling the clock but were not aggressive enough when they should have been. You are playing Aledo in Aledo without their starting QB. You should take some risk and go for the win.

Still more to research on Mansfield Timberview, but it looks to me that they haven’t played anybody. That 1st round against a 4 seed earned them a 33-14 victory. I think BH is going to put some defensive pressure on them that they haven’t seen. This is going to be a good game and I think BH can surprise them.

Here was my post from the 5A site,

Timberview was a district mate these past two seasons and they are tough to beat. These last two years they ended Ennis' season when they had good teams. However its fair to say Timberview has not faced a lot of adversity this year and have not been tested. Barbers Hill on the other hand has this year. Their district is good and overall it was competitive for them. Timberview is ranked higher but Barbers Hill is battle tested. Having said all that I have no clue who wins.

I’m feeling the same way. I think they are a very athletic team that has won on just that…pure athleticism. We have seen that this year and it will take more than that to win against BH. Going to be a great game

If the Forney game was close then I might go Timberview but yall dominated that game. Honestly it makes me want to pick BH but I just cant decide yet.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
