Derf Nosneb Posted June 4, 2021 Report Posted June 4, 2021 You have to throw your "ace" in the semi. If you don't win the semi, you don't play in the final. Many a coach over the 20+ years I have been around HS baseball have made the mistake of saving the "ace" for the finals only to get beat in the semis. Quote

The Lamar lefty that came from Splendora and led the state in strike outs his senior year is a perfect example, dominated in HS, D1 not so much. Quote
