bullets13 Posted October 12, 2007 Report Share Posted October 12, 2007 I'm an HJ alum, and some of silsbee's fans have really been getting on my nerves on here, and i'll still say that they deserve a top ten ranking to start the year. when you look at the year that they had last year, and how close that they came to state, i think these rankings are absurd. Last year we (West Hardin) were not listed on anybody's top 20 pre-season poll. Then by the end of the year we were somewhere between #1 - #4 on everybody's poll. In the 3 years that Silsbee has been in 3A, they have made it to the regional finals twice, losing to Diboll 56-55 in '04 and losing in overtime last year to state champ HJ. Everyone said that was really the state championship game. You would think the Tigers would come in somewhere in the top 10, much less the top 25.Like you said Jay, no respect. Very surprised to see Goodrich ranked No. 1 in 1a-II, that won't stay too long. East Chambers and Kountze holding steady in 2a as usual, and HJ in 3a. bullets13 Posted October 12, 2007 Report Share Posted October 12, 2007 bullets13 you have to admit HJ has been getting on peoples nerves alsofrom what i've seen, silsbee's fans (just a few) have started more of the trash talk, and a lot of the HJ noise has been defending themselves. Now i'll be the first to admit i don't spend as much time in b-ball as i do in football and other sports, but that's just what i've noticed. I do know that the only HJ fan who's opinion is important to me (me) has tried to be respectful and keeps repeating that we just need to wait and see what happens.
