Our QB (Kirby Bellows)is young and will come around. Vidors QB (Roman Franklin) is actually pretty good but they refuse to  through the ball over there.I look for bellows to have a breakthrough performance Friday. Go Dogs!!!

Actually Roman aired it out many times in the Livingston game. The problem seemed to be that the guys were having trouble catching it. I would assume coach is really working on this part of the game as we discuss.

Your right on the money. Getting open was not a problem but catching it sure was. I hope they have it lined out friday

VIDOR AT NEDERLAND

The scenario....

The Bulldogs will honor their last state championship team . The current Bulldogs get pep talks from the former state champions, plus the legendary coach Bum Phillips. I wouldn't want to be the team playing Nederland this year for their homecoming. The Bulldogs ride the emotional roller coaster and ship wreck the Pirates. Look for a big game from Nederlands QB along the way.

Vidor has an excellent QB in Franklin and if he were quarterbacking anywhere else, i.e., on a team with quality WR's and a line that offered protection everyone would know who he was, but as it is, he simply does the best he can with the hand he has been dealt. No, I'm not kin to him, but let's just say I have watched him play most of his life and I know first hand what he is capable of. As far as the Vidor receivers go, lets just say Vidor put all of their eggs in one basket and that basket moved out of state and no one else has stepped up yet. #10 may get his chance to QB next year he looked good his freshman year, but was  moved to LB his sophomore year and has not took many snaps since, so who knows who the QB will be next year.

you are right franklin is an excellent qb one of the best in district if not the best

but no one to throw to

(run,run,run,) are defense works more

chris has a good arm a cannon at that

franklin is fast and has the best hands on the team

(pass & run ) are defense gets to rest more

or throw to chris (not much speed) he has one td catch this year

Nederland wins this one 21-13 IMO.  The game will be closer than many think, but the Dogs prevail. This game seems to be Vidor's Super Bowl every year and they will get up for this game like no other the rest of the season.  Vidor really has a strong distaste for Nederland for whatever reason so they view this game as highly important.

I expect Vidor to come to the game very motivated and excited to play. But I expect Nederland to come into the game focused, prepared, and eager to avenge an embarassing loss from last season.

Vidor will be playing on emotion, but a lack of discipline on the field will result in turnovers and botched oppurtunities. Nederland on the other hand, will come into the game on 2 weeks of work, and will all of the kinks ironed out for Friday night.

Only 29 hours to go!

64' pirates would be nice

With a record of 12-0-1 the 64 Pirates did well. That had to suck to lose to San Marcos by penetrations 5-4. I didn't like that whole penetration thing. Now I no why your user name is revenge of 64. Wouldn't that count as a loss though( 12-1). You didn't play Ned that year.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
