If you would have read my message I said most if not all it wasn’t a 100 percent statement but even still it was good till halftime then nothing... last night could have been a lot worse....  Every year it’s been the same and will continue to be the same Newton will roll in District by pretty much as much as they want no different hear.

Let’s not get the big head. Let’s stay humble. With that being said, I’m predicting Eagles will roll smoothly this week.

CC has played four 2A  schools in preseason. Winning two games and losing two games. They beat a weak Kville, New Waverly, and Kountze. They beat an undefeated A Shiro which had played a week schedule. This happens ever year with CC.

Newton is not as good as last year and CC is a little better than last year. It will not be a run the clock second half but Newton will win by 4 TDs.

CC was much better last year actually.

When teams like C Camden and Anderson Shiro plays these weak schedules, it is not to build their team to be a state level team but to get enough wins to protect the coaches job. Anderson Shiro played a pre season schedule of 4 teams from 2A  and a div. 4 Christian school and none of these teams were picked to win their 2A district.

As long; as these school continue to play weak schedules, Newton will not have to worry about them.

If you want to soar with Eagles.............................

Well if they had played Newton's non conference schedule they would just had 3-4 more losses and a lot of injuries. And I don't  think they would be better for it. Until they consistently have great athletes, great coaching and a great fan base to support them,  I don't think if they played Ohio State and Alabama it would help them.

It is these coaches that set the schedules which does not demand the athletes to get better.

Athletes get better by being in a great program,  great strength programs,  great coaching, backing by school administration, fan base. Success breads success.  Become a winner consistently.  Then if you want to play Allen or Lake Travis then go for it, if you believe that will make you better.  But you must first consistently be successful and get the players, parents, fans and administration to believe in the program. Then slay Goliath if you like.

Who you challenge is up to you, not to say it needs to be Goliath, but you have to challenge yourself to get better.

Newton wins this game with no problem. IMO , Newton’s next competitive game won’t come until the 4th round of the playoffs & they will probably lose or get beat in the state semis. Hope I’m wrong. 😬😬

District 11 want be no pushover. It will be tough the whole way. Lot of good teams this year. In my opinion

It's really hard to tell if District 11 will be a challenge with so few common opponents. It does seem most teams in district 11 are very equal. And I believe Dangerfield gave Gunter everything they could handle. So it would appear they have some really good teams. Curious to see how all the other teams in Newton's district does in the playoffs

Gunter isn't typical Gunter this yr i hear, and Daingerfield is all noise.

    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
    • See why I don't trust my Hogs?
    • Come on dude, don’t take anything away from the kids on the field. If you want to talk uncharacteristic, we made what 3 or 4 errors in game one. Y’all had 2 EARNED runs.  Defense is normally our strong suit. Your ace didn’t strike out a single one of our kids. Like I said also, you did not out hit us in game 1. Hell you barley out hit us in game 2. We had all the uncharacteristic walks. Josh pitched a hell of a game is what made that game what it was.
