Wouldn't be surprised if we end up playing someone on the 10/25 open date just to get another game in. With the lack of quality in our district (all of the other teams are struggling badly), it would be nice to be able to play a halfway decent team that week.

Jasper will play Baton Rouge Centineal on the 25th.in Jasper, not one of the school's we played in the past.

The schools in the recent past we played from Louisiana were a waste of time.  Granted, Texas highschool teams make a lot of teams from places look bad. Centennial as it stands is 5-0 so far this season and have won  10+ games the last few seasons.

At least you dont have to drive. I'm sure there are some good teams over there. Many people from the other side of the sabine river have asked why we dont play them. I always say they are nowhere near our level. It would be an embarrassment for a Texas team to have a win on our record against a team from LA.

Just jokes. Hope yall get some game time experience and please, no injuries. I dont want to hear excuses for the rematch. Lol

I wouldn't mind us playing Edna Karr, Sulphur or Warren Easton from over cross the river.

Centennial beat Karr already this season. For those who don't know, Karr, Easton, and the likes are consistent good football teams.

Catholic High beat them along with John Curtis, that's their only 2 losses, I've watched both of those games.

In your reference to Karr I knew what you meant. I was simply supporting the fact that Karr plays good football. There maybe a few that come here that are not aware of the John Curtis Patriots.  Wasn't it like a 3 pt game?

Yup 42-39

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. Texas does not have party registration, but a voter’s primary voting history is public. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
