And go La Porte!

Yes, I will definitely be pulling for West Brook and LaPorte this week.  If they get the wins, all we have to do next week is win on Senior Night...

But the Bruin fans will be pulling for Channelview this week and Deer Park next week so that they can go D2.

Buggati, if the Calpreps predictions listed above hold true for this week, that will have the district looking like this...

School                                                    Record

Galena Park North Shore                    6-0

y Beaumont West Brook                        5-1

LaPorte                                                     3-3

Deer Park                                                  3-3

Sheldon C.E. King                                    3-3

Channelview                                             2-4

Beaumont United                                     2-4

Baytown Sterling                                      0-6

And these would be the last games...

Sterling @ West Brook

North Shore @ Channelview

LaPorte @ King=winner goes to the playoffs @ 4-3 (I would have to favor King in this game)

Deer Park @ United=Deer Park goes with a win because they would be 4-3.  United would go at 3-4 with a win because then Deer Park would be 3-4 and loss the head to head with United.  United would needs King to beat LaPorte due to United losing to King but beating LaPorte.

BUT IF CHANNELVIEW BEATS LAPORTE THIS WEEK BUT ALL THE OTHER GAMES HOLD TRUE TO HIS PREDICTIONS...

School                                                    Record

Galena Park North Shore                    6-0

y Beaumont West Brook                        5-1

Deer Park                                                  3-3

Sheldon C.E. King                                    3-3

Channelview                                             3-3

Beaumont United                                     2-4

LaPorte                                                      2-4

Baytown Sterling                                      0-6

And these would be the last games,

Sterling @ West Brook

North Shore @ Channelview

LaPorte @ King

Deer Park @ United

And with this scenario, it is quite possible for 5 teams to finish at 3-4 and come down to some crazy tiebreaker that's over my head if LaPorte beat King, United beats Deer Park and North Shore beats Channelview.

Realistically I would think King would beat LaPorte, putting them in the playoffs at 4-3.  If Deer Park beats United, Deer Park goes to the playoffs in D1, sending WB to D2.  But with North Shore beating Channelview and putting them at 3-4, if United beats Deer Park, that would have a 3 way tie at 3-4 that would come down to some points tiebreaker.

I probably just confused you more 🤣 but a lot depends on the Channelview @ LaPorte game this week, mind you as long as West Brook doesn't go down to Deer Park and choke...

I wonder if WB thinking about pulling a similar move this week that Temple did last season in Week-11........hmmm...

Favors them going D2 instead of D1.

Temple pretty much lost on purpose week-11 last season to avoid that beast from Longview, but it backfired 1st round of the playoffs.

It will be a 3 way tie for the 4th spot.

BU 3-4

CV 3-4

DP 3-4

Who gets in

In a 3 way tie it would go to points being that none of those 3 teams swept the other 2.

Channelview beat United by 3.

Deer Park beat Channelview by 3.

Deer Park @ United???

In my opinion, if you United wins, they need to win by as much as they can or at least by 4.

From what I heard, they are holding him out until the playoffs but I'm quite sure some Bruin faithful's can give you a better answer...

That’s not fair for the kid. If they lose in first rd he won’t have any senior season to remember. Let him play now lol

I'm sure Holland would rather a college future than playing too early this season and having a memory of getting hurt again.

Anywho, does Holland have any offers per his performance last season?

Not sure but if he doesn’t and he wants to prove to colleges he can still play they need to play him this week.  In this situation if I was the coach and If HE Hasn’t signed with anyone yet then I would play him for his benefit not my own.

Kid needs a chance to prove he still has it or not to these colleges.  A college degree makes a world of difference especially if you have a family to take care of

play the man!!!

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
