losteraussie, did Nac build a new stadium? Sure are a lot of games there this year.

They have a new high school stadium......I think. SFA no longer allows high school games and Nac is just a really good middle ground between north and south and also a really nice town. I always liked when we went to Nac but I have never been to the high school stadium.

EF is a betree team than Arp. Newton "should" win by 2+ scores.

I don't disagree. But Dale Irwin and the boys from Arp will be ready to go. I think that on this site almost everyone took it for granted that it would be a Crockett/Newton regional final. It was almost an Arp/EF final. EF gave Newton all they wanted and then some.

You can throw scores out the window at this point. Let them Tigers hand around too long and Newton will pay.

Wrong, they do not have a new stadium. Just a few upgrades

Wrong they can hang around until Sunday if they want and still wouldn't have a chance. Newton by 3+ scores maybe even a route. Arp will realize what that Purple Pride is all about.

Newton should win this game by 2 touchdowns, but don't take anything for granted. At this point in the playoffs, there is no bad teams. If the best team has a few miscues. They could easily lose the game. You have to play basically, mistake free football from this point on. That's who will win the state championship game. Not necessarily the best team. There is definitely some great competition from this point forward for Newton. They may have the best team. Hope they win it!!

Agree, the worst thing Newton could do would be to go into this game over-confident, thinking they have this game won before the coin toss.  With each week, nothing matters about the past record.  Every team is good, or they wouldn't be here. Anything can and will happen on any given Friday night in Texas high school football.  Newton needs to stay humble, or Arp will walk away with the "W."

Yeah, I'm a big Nacogdoches fan too. Trying to convince my wife to move there when we retire.

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. Texas does not have party registration, but a voter’s primary voting history is public. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
