Might be a good thing for Barbers Hill? Even though he was 0-10 this year there's some BH faithful that think he's the guy. Maybe he really is done coaching like the article says though, tough to lose a kid and have the same passion.

He has a game today or over the weekend? He has to be from a small school  other than Argyle if he's considering the BH job. I would think BH pays more than Cedar Park, I think it would be a step back career wise though if you're trying to move to greater things.

Well it wouldn't have to be a small school guy.  Why couldn't it be a coordinator or assistant at a big school?  I'm not saying it is.  But I'm not saying it isn't either.  I'm not going to say either way.

But I definitely heard who the next coach will be.  And that person has a game sometime between today and Saturday.  I won't say out of respect for the school and person involved.  I keep trying to tell you guys that I know people that know people.

Because they clearly stated that they want someone with head coaching experience. Maybe they've moved off of that now? The guy I know talked to a BH football coach this week and he said he currently had no idea who it would be. This guy also told me Andy Evans told him out of his mouth that he wanted the BH job when they hired Gage but he didn't accept because the BH admin. wanted him to come clean house. He felt there were some good assistant coaches on the staff he didn't want to uproot and have that tied to his name. Maybe the list of applicants has caused them to go a different route though.

Ha! Very true. I'm inclined to believe that the folks that like to get on here and spew all sorts of inside info from their "sources", rarely have the facts or have been given very limited facts by said sources. After all, people on the inside don't want to tell folks things when they know they'll just hop on the site and blab to everyone.

How would you be right, when you've given basically zero info on who the coach is? Each team playing this weekend, probably has about 15 coaches on avg. That's over 250 people that could be possibilities when you've said that it could be small school, could be big school, could be HC, could be asst....

Because they clearly stated that they want someone with head coaching experience. Maybe they've moved off of that now? The guy I know talked to a BH football coach this week and he said he currently had no idea who it would be. This guy also told me Andy Evans told him out of his mouth that he wanted the BH job when they hired Gage but he didn't accept because the BH admin. wanted him to come clean house. I have not played pickems a day in my life, so congrats on not beating me at anything.

 

Also, my sources have indicated that BH will hire a coach soon who is a male, who walks on two legs, and who can drive a car. My sources are usually correct and an announcement will be made soon. Do not be surprised when my sources are correct, and I am right. Although, I will not give a name beforehand, and I will just need you to trust me that I knew the name that will be announced before it was announced.

Head coaches take assistant jobs at other places pretty often.  Just saying.

Someone with head coaching experience that's on another coach's staff is usually a guy that's been fired at his previous stop. I don't really think you know, otherwise you would at least say the school or what type of assistant he is.

I agree. Someone is going to get their hands on the list of the supposed 45 applicants. I would assume the guy's name is on there to be seen publicly so not really sure what playing it close to the vest does? I don't think a stand-up coach would apply for a job behind his employer's back.

I don't care.  Most of the people on this site don't believe anything I say anyway.  I simply said I know people that know people because I'm not making this stuff up.  I very well may have more close friends and/or relatives in the coaching world than you have friends total.  I hope not...but maybe.  I'm getting information from people who coach right now all over the state covering every classification.  We talk frequently.  I'm a text away from knowing what's going on first hand with many things concerning high school sports.  I have a few friends with college connections but most are now or were coaching high school sports in Texas.  So yeah I'm pretty confident in my sources.  Someone said earlier that Coach Evans would make a good fit for this job...I'm simply saying it doesn't matter if he will or not, because according to my sources it's not him.

I'll bet that all of the coaches at NRG right now are huddled up outside of the locker room texting oldschool2 all of the hot information coming out of their pre game meetings. I'm sure they texted him their game plan for their state championship game just so he could get on setxsports.com and tell us all how his "sources" told him they planned to win their game. Wait, is your source Gary Joseph? I'm sure your so well connected that Coach Joseph came over to your house last night to have a beer and talk football. Na, probably not Joseph. Based on your post I can assume that the guys you know are much higher up the TXHSFB food chain than Joseph. I got it! Your source is Todd Dodge. That's what you mean about having connections in college because of all of the UNT contacts you made while Dodge was in Denton. Maybe your source is Coach Surratt in Carthage. Did he tell you who was getting the BH job?
