Crosby vs Dayton

Recommended Posts

Dallas Skyline played Allen in the playoffs with a varsity roster of 44 kids, and damn near beat em. Kirbyville, EC and Ozen had a max roster of 36, teams in bold are 3A with JV squads. Nuff said. Sick of the enrollment number talk, the participation numbers are the only numbers that matter. Enrollment number crap is nothing but a glorified pre-empted excuse for a potential loss.

You think 36 kids from EC could play with the 36 that would go to Skyline? Of the 44 kids that were on Skyline's roster 15 or more with play FBS football, Kirbyville and EC combined probably don't have 1. The football demographics at Skyline are also better than the football demographics at Allen. Same for Cedar Hill when they face Katy with about 1000 less kids.

Thx for making my point, Enrollment numbers sure didnt matter when Skyline damn near put Allen's run to a halt. Didnt matter for CH versus Katy. Those high enrollment numbers sure is helping 4-loss Desoto this year. ;)

how many State titles do they have - using your logic they should play for state every year . Look at WOS,PLC, ElCampo, LaMarque to name just a few -soory your numbers game just isn't significant unless the numbers are grossly imbalanced.

Allen is the biggest school in the state and they do play for it every year. When North Shore played the Woodlands for the title they were probably two of the three or four largest schools in the state with Humble and maybe one of the Laredo schools.

Yeah look at WOS, look at all their participation. They lost to Foster by 28 because they have more kids and better players. Look at PLC, when they didn't play teams from The Valley they went 6-6 and were crushed by Crosby because they just don't have the players. What about El Campo? They got out of the first round 1 time their last 7 years in 5A. Dropped down to 4A in went to the semis the next year.

It's not purely about numbers, but if the demographics are equal then enrollments play a huge factor.

You were talking about participation rates. Allen's is much higher than Skyline's with a much higher enrollment to go with it. Skyline has better demographics though, therefore even with a lower rate they can play with Allen. At a lower rate but with the same enrollment they would be the better team because they would have 1500 more kids to choose those 44 from.

Conversely if Allen had the exact same rate with Skyline's enrollment and Skyline had the exact same rate with Allen's enrollment then Skyline would mop the field with Allen, even though Allen would have a much higher percentage of their kids playing.

Desoto has about 2800 kids, they'll probably play D2 this year. They had deeper teams when their enrollment was at about 3200. Katy has about 1000 more kids that Cedar Hill and a much higher participation rate but still loses to them. Do you think if CH had 100 more kids with the same rate that the game with Katy would even be close?

closer to 3K if not over right now, they'll be D1 as usual unless Duncanville miraculously makes the playoffs, in which their 4K+ enrollment isn't helping either.

Cibolo Steele couldn't take it all in 4a and the next year moved up to 5a and got a ring. They couldn't beat the demographically challenged LT so they just went to 5a and got a ring.

    • Hold them accountable? Like here in Texas where we have, by any definition, the most conservative Speaker that we’ve ever had. He pushed through an abortion ban and border security measures, reduced school taxes, etc… and the people who put him in office are firing him for not being MAGA enough.    Every third commercial on TV is Trump (or somebody who supports Trump) calling Phelan a RINO and supporting an impotent replacement for the most powerful person in the House.    It’s 100% MAGA, and it’s 12000% stupid.    “oh, he didn’t do those things by himself” says everyone who doesn’t understand parliamentary procedure.
    • @bullets13 not sure why it double posted the topic.. delete this one plz sir
    • Me personally I respect posters like @bullets13 @CardinalBacker they vote for a guy and can call out others in the party or the direction a party can be headed.... others on here fall "lockstep" with whatever happens and defend by all means is the mantra it seems... no need to call out names, it's probably you if your mad at this statement 🤣
    • I recall prior to midterms the R's and the "red wave" would get America "back on track" etc.... they would end this and stop Biden from that blah blah blah, so what's the problem? It looks like a circus show from both sides and whoever can sit or stand with a straight face and defend it is a 🤡! Desantis would've been a slam dunk for the R's and he possibly would've got my vote... now they pick a guy who lost the popular vote twice lol (yeah I know that means nothing in grand scheme of things).. point being is the dude is highly unlikeable (I also know this doesn't matter) 👈🏾 just getting ahead of the deflectors... personally I hope the clown gets in there so ppl can see how ultra right the clown is trying to push America for... IF he wins in November you can bet he will be on a rampage for 4 years getting lil if anything done, will most likely spend his term for the same thing some of yall complain about daily, going after his opponents... but hey the D's do it right? So yeah it's cool if we do it SMH We're supposed to vote on policies etc while at the same time the person you vote for that made promises to change or fix this and that complains about his predecessor being the issue! It's all a joke What have R's done that's good for America since midterms?  What have D's done? And please leave your feelings out of this and be truthful if possible!
