Left little league a long time ago,but it was fun winning with non athletic kids vs. coaches like proud dog. Like I said I will be at the game tonite watching the athleticly over matched C.O. teams.sure would be nice to get proud dogs opinion in person on his statement on how a over all more athletic p.n. 8th grade team has no chance vs. C.O. That 💩is funny.

Its always comical to say "if" we played that sport or "if" these 2 or that 1 big-time kid played we would have beat you...The one thing that has happened over the past 7-10 years in Ned is instead of every kid going off and playing with specific select/AAU groups they have kept the Ned groups together and faced the bigger talent...Have they got trampled in some occasions...Sure...But over time they gel and come together...Every sport is different...But in MS sports, the kids that just "get it" tend to flourish...Over time, other kids get bigger, faster and stronger, but some never "get it"...As I said in my prior post...The pipeline is still running through CO Wilson...And tonight will be no different...

Bad service in that gym. 7th B went to PN 10-7.
7th A was all CO.
8th B went to PN by a few, can't remember the score.
8th A was CO fairly easy. Even with Cruz' scouting report, none of the starting five for CO were slowed. CO did have trouble finishing layups or the score would have been worse. PN couldn't handle the press. Number 30 could go. Can't remember final but CO was up by 20 and PN got a few bank 3's when the "new" coach called off the press. Should be an intense, albeit lopsided rivalry for the next few years. MCM!!

    • I don't think it is overly hyped.. I am seeing less and less multi-sport kids when it can all be prevented.. A coach teaches l loyalty, work ethic, comradery, integrity, perseverance, etc.. to get kids to buy into their program. They talk about brotherhood and doing what is best for their community.... But some mean all of this  just for football... Kids see into this double standard and will quit.. either while on the field or off...  drives me crazy!!  and again... I work with these kids.. they tell me what they think.. so you can agree or disagree.. its their point of view!!
    • Hmm..... I tend to disagree. I was a multi sport athlete in High School and am now a coach. Kid is not going to be a very good hitter if he only hits in the spring and summer, I took BP and threw (to keep my arm in shape) during football and basketball season. Kid is not going to be a very good QB, WR or DB if he only throws passes, runs routes or covers receivers in the fall or during a few 7 on 7 games after baseball is over. And a kid is never going to be good shooter of the basketball if he only shoots during the basketball season. Skills are honed, not mastered, they need to be developed and practiced repeatedly.
    • and I'll concede that this is more realistic.  but a good AD can make football the primary focus without messing with the success of other sports.
    • but they're 10-3 this year.  playoffs in basically everything except boys and girls basketball, which i mean, that's understandable.  and from what I'm hearing, the different programs feel supported over there.  which is kind of the point of the athletic director.  It's not the football director.
    • Would you rather have multi-sport athletes doing drills during school that are being ran/controlled by coaches or have kids playing fall ball with little to no supervision?!?!?
