Nederland got a few players coming off freshman team that should make an impact next 3 years & continue the "that player" tradition. The freshman team beat CROSBY BOTH BMT TEAMS & all the other district teams soundly except png, which they split the games with each team winning close games at home. Not sure the cupboard is dry yet my friend but i like everyone that keeps doubting Nederland every year...

1 more day......I have good nederland basketball sources for the silly facts stated.Its funny if you think the nederland basketball coaches just like many do not play certain kids based on parent pressure and personal family associations??????? a few of c.o. starters would not start at Pt. Neches,Groves or even see the floor for set hoops or thunder if their parents were not teachers at n.i.s.d. or hung out on the weekends with the coach :ph34r:        

c.o. is overrated.Simple to beat them keep the point guard #4 from driving for layups\assists,let the other guard #3 jack up 3s and block out there only big man #5= a Pt.Neches victory!

Pt.Neches is very improved from last year and if any of  c.o. starting 5 come out they are an average team.Several Pt. Neches kids play on very good select teams SET HOOPS and Thunder.   

c.o. 8th grade will lose to my sons Pt.Neches team,lumberton and vidor.They have a different coach this year,who plays all kids equal to keep parents happy.so the best 5 do not play together more than 2 quarters.    

why missing players?

Nederland Wilson is usually the team that wins there district the last several years.I seen them play last night and #5 #4 are legit on both ends of the floor and #3 is a good offensive player.i think there 8th grade A and 7th grade A teams went undefeated last year.Silsbee is always good and Beaumont has a few schools that are very good. The Bush kid for Legacy is legit also.

The 7th grade rule is correct for  U.I.L. coaches not to be involved with players or teams outside of the determined U.I.L. season of each sport.Select Basketball teams are watched more closely for this violation than baseball.Ive witnessed jr. high coaches run select or little dribblers teams practices & coach games from the stands  ;)

#25 for little cypress 7th grade team is the real deal.this kid was a dominating force on both sides of the ball.i know he had team mates help in the win,but this kid has the talent to score from anywhere on the field any time he touches the ball.i will not be surprised if he is playing on lcm's varsity as a freshmen.

#11-qb/lb,#22-wr/db,#8-wr/db for nederland seem to be there 3 best,those are the only 3 skill position players that start on offense & defense & rarely come out of the game.if u stop them 3 you stop nederland    8)

info on ned. sr. this year-several talented kids chose not to play football this year dropping overall #s to 20 to 25 kids total,only 2 returning players, 12 1st time players,no returning coaches & only 1 out of the 5 coaches has any experience coaching youth football.all that makes it an uphill battle for any team,but the kids & coaches are working hard every day & might surprise sum people this season. 

i heard that one of nederlands returning starters is considering not playing basketball because several division 1 colleges are offering him a track scholarship for the high jump?

last i heard b.c. was losing 9-3 to orwall & jasper beat north shore 5-3

nothing wrong with a guy getting the best 10 to 12 in his town & playing a few highly competitive select tournaments with them to make the players & coaches better.if those 10 to12 players play league & get voted to the towns allstar team they have a better chance of being successful,because they experienced real baseball in select.its not the official allstar team,theres always a chance sum of the select kids dont make it so there is no rule of the many little league rules being broken.
